I'm Toni, a Boston-based flight attendant just looking to share some stories. I work for an airline. I'm constantly on the go for work and hopping on planes to visit distant destinations in my time off. It's not a lifestyle that would suit everyone, but it feels like this life was molded especially for me. This blog is a way of sharing my travel stories, tips and tidbits, and..

Whether it is packing my suitcase, flying back and forth across the country, or walking in sub-freezing temperatures to my crashpad in Boston, I almost always have something playing in my ears. Last post was a book roundup, which included some of my favorite audiobook listens of the year, and I’m following it up with my other audio recommendations. Here are some of my favorite podcasts.

Earlier this week, I experienced my most chaotic 48 hours of flight attendant life in recent memory. It’s not my worst story, by far, but it was a great example of the wild world of working as a flight attendant (and living as Toni.) It was a sleep-deprived, planning-on-the-go, tornado of chaos, and I’m here to share it with you. Anxious people beware, this one’s a doozey.

MORE NEW ZEALAND CONTENT! Wooooo!
I spent the first portion of my three-week trip to New Zealand in Queenstown, the South Island’s adventure capital. From bungy jumping to skiing to white water rafting and eating your face off, Queenstown has a little something for everyone. It was a quick but super fun three days in Queenstown and I’m going to give my best recommendations for having a hell of a time there.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that my recent trip to New Zealand was Ahhhhh-MAZING. I spent nearly three weeks between the North and South Islands and covered a lot of ground. First an 8-day road trip on the South Island, hitting landmarks like Milford Sound, Queenstown, Aokari/ Mount Cook National Park, and Christchurch. I spent four days in Auckland, hanging with old friends, making new ones, and running a 10k for the World Airline Road Race. After that,

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would jump off a bridge with an elastic rope tied to my ankles. Not only was I uninterested in bungy jumping, I have been a hard “F*ck No” on the subject. I guess this is one more example of “never say never”, because on my recent trip to New Zealand, I did the unthinkable and leapt, face first, from a 140-foot bridge. Spoiler alert: I survived, and now I’m here to tell you all about my experience bungy jumping in New Zealand. Weeee!

Forget your notions of jetsetting and excitement, adventure and exploration, today we are talking about the real fight attendant life. Far from the glitz of the short shorts and smoking-in-the-air era, and worlds away from the drama of scripted aviation-themed TV, the truth of the matter is that flight attendant life, a lot of the time, is pretty mundane. Boring, even. And I mean that in the best way possible.
If you’ve ever wondered what flight attendant life is really like, you’ve come to the right place. I’m giving you an inside peak into 48 hours in my life as a flight attendant

I’m the luckiest girl alive. Earlier this month my mom, niece, and nephew packed up their bags and flew across the country to visit me in San Diego. It was four days full of food, fun, and plenty of sunshine, and I’ve been missing them ever since.
I’m settling into my new city, in these short four months it has already come to feel like home. But having your people—your home people—in your new space is a whole other level. I’m left with the coziest feelings, a boatload of gratitude, and the hope that they’ll come back again soon.
Here’s how we spent a family-friendly four days in San Diego, an ..read more

I know you think Pride is long over, and for most people it is. But in San Diego, where Pride is in July, Pride Month has just wrapped up. Today’s post is all about San Diego Pride, the bulk of which fell on Pride Weekend, July 20-22 this year. It’s about the events I attended and how the blazing San Diego sun almost ruined me. It is about making friends and fostering relationships...

Two days in London, anyone?
The amount of travel I did last week for this quick trip to London isn’t for the faint of heart, but it was a trip that meant a lot to me. I was stopping by the familiar city to visit a mutual friend of the person I lost to Cancer earlier this year. Don’t worry, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Overall, the trip was lovely. Today I’m sharing how I spent 48 hours in London, how it felt to be there without Will, and how I’m feeling now, post-trip. Let the oversharing commence.
