Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its first batch of indigenous cabin crew members after they graduated from the company’s training program.  The ‘Orang Asli’, which translates to ‘original people’, belong to a minority population that are considered the original inhabitants of Malaysia. Etihad Airways announced that it is embarking on a global recruitment campaign to seek eligible people to join its cabin crew team. Four Jetstar cabin crew members were taken to hospital after falling ill from aircraft fumes on a domestic flight. Flight JQ 966 arrived at Cairns Airport (CNS) from Coolangatta Airport (OOL) in the Gold Coast at around 09:30 local time on May 30, 2024. Four flight attendants have been charged with allegedly smuggling drug money between the United States and the Dominican Republic. According to the US Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York, the flight attendants have been charged in connection with their “years-long participation in smuggling narcotics trafficking proceeds from the United States to the Dominican Republic on commercial flights”.
