Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its first batch of indigenous cabin crew members after they graduated from the company’s training program.  The ‘Orang Asli’, which translates to ‘original people’, belong to a minority population that are considered the original inhabitants of Malaysia. Scandinavian carrier SAS has become the latest European airline to allow its flight attendants and front-facing employees to have visible tattoos and wear sneakers while working. Etihad Airways announced that it is embarking on a global recruitment campaign to seek eligible people to join its cabin crew team. Four Jetstar cabin crew members were taken to hospital after falling ill from aircraft fumes on a domestic flight. Flight JQ 966 arrived at Cairns Airport (CNS) from Coolangatta Airport (OOL) in the Gold Coast at around 09:30 local time on May 30, 2024. Passengers had disembarked the A320 aircraft when crew members noticed an unusual smell and began to feel nauseous. A United Airlines flight bound for San Francisco International Airport (SFO) had to divert to Incheon International Airport (ICN) after the flight crew became ill from food poisoning.  Flight UA 806 departed Incheon Airport at around 11:36 local time on May 19, 2024. Four flight attendants have been charged with allegedly smuggling drug money between the United States and the Dominican Republic. According to the US Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York, the flight attendants have been charged in connection with their “years-long participation in smuggling narcotics trafficking proceeds from the United States to the Dominican Republic on commercial flights”.
