I am excited to be back on carnivore. I went full time again on January 1. I spent the last few years yo-yo eating. It brought many health issues back and my weight went to nearly 190. Since I started carnivore again, I dropped to 171. For those that followed me last time, I covered up my tattoos and have grown a beard. I look forward to sharing my progress and I will post my updated labs at the end of March. Starting over

Time to man up and show everyone where I am currently. I’ve been half-heartedly doing carnivore with plenty of cheating with Keto/SAD we for the last few years. I’m currently at 186.6 pounds and have been getting bigger. As of the January 1, 2023 I’m 100% carnivore again. Starting over sucks but I’m ready to get back into shape. Here are my pics and recent labs. I’ll update again soon ..read more

I received an email today asking about the site and my progress. Unfortunately, their email address seems incorrect and has bounced back. I didn’t realize I hadn’t posted on the site for a few years. Time is a funny thing, especially when working from home and falling into a routine because of Covid. Which I did get in 2020. I was down for about 2 weeks and was fortunate it wasn’t too bad, especially since I have asthma. In any event, I wanted to give a quick update on where I’ve been and see if I can start blogging again. I fell off the diet for a few months in 2019. I was traveling and had s ..read more

Carnivore Beef Bone Broth

Recently, I found myself interested in bone broth. I wanted a warm drink to replace coffee and that led to bone broth. This wholesome drink is delicious, and it’s rich in protein and collagen. I won’t bore you with additional nutritional facts. You can easily search Google for all the potential and verified benefits of drinking bone broth. Initially, I went with store bought broths. I tried several, but soon realized that store bought brands are expensive and nearly all have added ingredients that may not be beneficial to people on the Carnivore WOE. Don’t get me wrong, store bought broths are ..read more

EAT-Lancet – My take

I know it has been a while since my last post. It’s been a hectic few weeks but I wanted to take a moment to address something that many people have asked me about recently. By now, many of you have heard of the EAT-Lancet commission. This is the commission that brought scientists and other “experts” together, to create with a “healthy” and “sustainable” diet for the world. In simplest terms, they advocate that animal products are inherently unhealthy and we should concentrate on grains, fruits, and vegetables. According to their “self-peer reviewed” study, this will save around 11 million peo ..read more

Working Out
The Carnivore Dad Blog

One reader recently asked about my workout routine. In the beginning, I didn’t work out. I simply concentrated on adaption for the first 30 days. I did this because during adaption, I did’t have much energy and did’t have any motivation. Once I was through adaption, I began to follow Ted Naiman’s workout routine. His routine (linked above) centers around body weight exercises. This includes pull ups, push ups, no weight squats, calf raises, planks, etc. I did these exercises 2-3 days per week for about 45 minutes each day. In the beginning, I couldn’t do any squats and I was wiped out after 3 ..read more

Carnivore at Disney World

I recently had a question regarding what could be eaten when visiting Walt Disney World. Carnivore eating is something that can easily be done when you travel, or are simply out and about.  In order to help out my fellow carnivores, I went through the Disney website and came up with numerous dining options, park by park. The list below does not include all restaurants. This is because some restaurants had limited or no carnivore options, and some only offered drinks/snacks. Also, I did not include resorts or Disney Springs. At some point, I may try to add these dining options, but t ..read more

Vitamin C
The Carnivore Dad Blog

Today, I thought I would take a look at vitamin C on this WOE. Humans, unlike many other animals, are unable to produce their own vitamin C. We instead rely on outside sources to provide our daily needs. When we don’t get enough vitamin C, we can fall prey to medical issues such as scurvy, delayed wound healing, and a weakened immune system. I’ve seen many detractors say carnivores are vitamin C deficient and they will get scurvy. They try to use arguments such as “sailors got scurvy from high meat/fish diets!” If you ever get a chance to talk with commercial fishermen, you’ll find that fish ..read more

Affording meat

One common concern that I hear from people is that they don’t think they can afford the carnivore diet. Ideally, you want fatty cuts of beef. Other meats like seafood, pork, or chicken are next on your list. You can even add eggs and low carb dairy to the mix. These can help fill you up! It is best to have grass fed, organic beef, but I understand that this can be expensive and prohibitive. While I do try to buy grass fed/organic when I can, I am also here to tell you that it is possible to be a frugal carnivore! Here are a few ideas to help you get started: Buy in bulk – Costco and Sams can ..read more
