Hello again!
For anyone with mineral rights in Dawson county, Texas I am sure we are all watching the encouraging developments with regard to the gradual northern movement of oil companies into this area. EOG (aka CGS), SM Energy, IKE Operating and others have had some successful wells targeting the Dean and WC-A layers on the southern end of the county. SM Energy just recently shared their 1Q2024 results which highlight this fact. The following is an article from Hart energy which is paywalled but sharing it here for your perusal).
SM Energy has put a four-well pad in its new far northern Mid ..read more

We have interests in the Lamkin 1H and Lamkin 2 BH wells in Shelby County Texas. Since first production in 2011 until mid 2022 we have been paid by two payors. Then one payor, BPX (Aethon is the other payor and listed operator), stopped paying. I have hit a wall trying to figure out what company should be paying the1/2 royalties. Any help appreciated.

I own mineral rights to 80 acres in Angelina County, TX, about 7 miles west of several current Haynesville Shale producers, including Gasosaurus Unit which produced 143,022 MCF in Jan 2024. I was contacted on Friday by a royalty group out that wanted to purchase my mineral rights for $3300 per acre. Some folks in my family want to sell as it is a “sure thing” while others, including me, would like to hold on to the rights given the current production just east of the land. Our 60 acres was leased by BP about 6 years ago for 5 years, but BP did not pick up the 2 year option.
My questions:

Just received certified letter that says it is a notice of Commingle Permit Application. It says it is provided to give me 21 days notice as they are requesting exemption to statewide rules 26 and/ or 27. Anyone have knowledge about this rule to share? It says it is for offsite storage and separation of oil; and casing gas metering by allocation of test well. Other items are also checked. Thanks for any information and feedback.

I know very little about oil and gas.
We own a small small interest in Big Chief lease property in the southern Delaware. It’s partially Block 1, sec 173-175. I recently figured out it’s been a big producing property and includes about 10 sections and 32 wells using mineral answers website. I believe it was first drilled in 2012.
It looks like there’s roughly 3-4 wells per section at this point. You can see the production jumps up when wells are added and then it tails off. For this area of Reeves county, is 3-4 wells per section about the max or will it likely add more? If it likely adds more ..read more

Does anyone have news of horizontal drilling in the Austin Chalk in Dimmit County? I think Rosewood has two or three wells permitted on existing Eagle Ford leases. Did Javelin and Rosewood enter into a recent agreement?

I’ve noticed most are claiming their appraisals are reduced this year. Unfortunately that is not the case for me. Has anyone been successful in contesting the appraisal district’s figures? I need a Plan of Action!! Thanks.
