2014 Allroad - drivers side rear hatch window - water leak on electronics

2013 Allroad. Heavy pollen season this year in MD. Taking car to self serve car wash - high pressure wand to blow away pollen. When spraying the rear hatch SIDE windows, I have notices some black crud coming out from the window trim around those 2 windows. Drivers side is worse than the passenger side. When I look closely at the black crud, some is solid pieces (not sure of material), other appears to be dry rotted foam gasket like material (it disintegrates when you touch it). I haven't checked inside the hatch area until the other day when my MMI sound went silent (amp - likely), then who ..read more

Timing chain settlement came in the mail today....

https://www.timingchain-settlement.com/ Got a letter in the US mail for this today with a notice ID and confirmation code. I just submitted a claim and uploaded all my documentation. Not expecting much at this point and I did the job 3 years ago but hey maybe we get some back. Says it is for MY 2012-2015. This is consistent with the timing chain having been updated in 2016, which is what I generally had assumed. Anyway, worth plugging in your VIN and taking a shot. This 2014 Q5 2.0T I have is a class action magnet ..read more

A4 B8 00493 - ESP Sensor unit no signal/communication

Hi Guys, Following fault is proving a real issue, have replaced the unit with 2 others in attempt to clear and fix. The only joy I have had is when I have calibrated the steering angle sensor (following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETk49X4x8rA) the ESP light went off for maybe a week, but now its back and wont clear. I don't know where to check next, was thinking maybe the wiring in the wheel arch, my dad think it might also be something to do with the instrument cluster in the steering rack. Any thoughts would be fantastic Full VCDS download below: VCDS Windows Based VAG/VA ..read more

Servotronic solenoid n119 - code 02838

Not finding much on this other than check wiring or the solenoid is bad and to replace it. Steering is hard all the time. I thought the Power Steering pump died, but now that I have the code, it doesn't look like that is the issue. Having said that, I check PWM, command and Amps to the solenoid. VCDS reports 0 amps. Clear codes, car on, turn the wheel and the code comes right back. I'll check wiring and stuff this weekend. If wiring is good, should I replace the whole rack or is just swapping the solenoid good enough? Book says the whole rack has to come out to replace the solenoid. Anyone ..read more

Just got a postcard addressed to me from a class action that has been settled from Timing Chain Settlement pending final approval from the court adjudicating. The listed website is www.timingchain-settlement.com. and you have to submit a claim online. I had an indy complete a timing chain service last year so this is good news if I can recoup some or all of the costs for the job. Anyone else get the postcard ..read more

Install this CTS K04 or trade up? ditch IE?

2016 allroad (CPMB) Currently: 115,000mi, good condition. IE Stage 1 (as well as a GFB DV+, many little bushings, suspension mods, etc.) Ready to install next weekend: 034 HFC and Wagner FMIC Also sitting in the garage: a CTS K04 (NIB condition, recent production non-BW CHRA) End goal: I want to run ethanol blends but IE won't develop it for the B8 platform, so to do that I must go APR or custom. I've got local APR dealers, but I prefer to flash myself and don't have a problem data logging so an HPT MPVI3 module and a custom tune seems the best route for that, plus it will be able to suppo ..read more

Fuse Tap

Hey all, I had installed the starlights headliner a while back and this whole time I have been using the cigarette lighter inside the car to power up the starlights. Finally, I got tired of the cable just being visible in the car and decided to wire the star lights through a fuse tap. I wanted to pick a fuse that would only power the starlights when the car is on, so I though the fuse for the cig lighter would be perfect. I assumed since my phone only charged through the cig lighter port when the car is on, then that would be the same for the starlights. However, after I wired it, the starligh ..read more

Rear subframe differences Avant Quattro?
Audizine Forum » Audi A4 B8

My rear subframe on the Allroad is rotten.. so It needs to be replaced (it looks to far gone to justify the time for a repair) In ETKA the allroad shares the part number with the regular A5/S4 and A5/S5 quattro, 8K0505235AK. The A4 and A5 however also has a version with an H instead of a K at the end. Do I need to find a part with the ending K or will the H fit just as well? In short: Should any B8 quattro rear subframe fit ..read more
