You don't need to pull anything if you have a meter, just measure from the fuses to a chassis ground. If the fuse has 12V with the key off it's battery, key on it's ignition or accessory, stays on for awhile after key-off then it's accessory. BTW, most of your electricals except for the radio/navi are identical to a '16, so most of the information here will also apply to your ride: https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 6%2FPG.pdf Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Sat May 25, 2024 9:31 am ..read more

Thanks, yeah just a multimeter and I wanted to avoid pulling fuse after fuse. I'll take a look at those, thank you! Statistics: Posted by Acecool — Sat May 25, 2024 8:54 am ..read more

A $4 test lamp or $10 pocket meter will tell you exactly what any fuse is doing without any need for "tracing". You really should have one or the other if you're doing accessory installations. Driving at a steady cruise with the engine fully warm, or warming up and then holding a very high steady idle, are really the only ways to get a valid picture. Turning on the Cruise Control on an open highway gives best results, because it's hard to hold a high idle steady with your foot. Yes, the little oscillations on both sensors count, the reversal of direction is what the ECM looks at for purposes of the cats. I'd say yours look dead. And the other too: the issue is the one thing, but not being able to get a proper diagnostic is the other. I’ve been to 3 local shops and nobody seems to have a for sure answer what’s going on. I keep hearing theories but not actual, “this is what’s happening”. Not to mention, 3 places have claimed to not be able to get into the ECU to communicate. Whereas 1 shop and my own $5 Bluetooth connector and phone is able to plug in and read consistently. But oddly enough, I can only “clear” the codes on my android phone (which I originally used to do screen mirroring on the aftermarket dvd player), b ..read more

I tapped into the auto accessory line at the fuse-box for an install, but I would rather have a tap into a traditional accessory line so when the car is turned off, the device enters parking mode immediately instead of waiting 10 minutes or so. Does anyone know if any of the fused locations in the fuse-box can be used for this purpose or will I have to trace and tap into somewhere else such as the ignition button? Also the knock sensor is not essential and it's extremely hard to get to. I managed to get mine off but there's was no way I could put it back in the way I got it off so I just disconnected the electrical connector and the code went away. I replaced the rear control arms on the pathfinder a few weeks ago with a set of Moogs. Shocks were replaced about 2 yrs ago (kyb excel gas) and so were the coils and sway bar end links (also Moog). When I replaced the control arms I also changed the sway bar bushing to poly. Everything is good, however I still feel a slight unsteadiness in the rear on the highway and it seems like a lateral sway when hitting dips or bumps. Could it be the panhard bar? Also, will a panhard bar for a 1999-2004 pathfinder work on the 1997 pathfinder? They have a slightly different part number. Thanks Statistics ..read more

Injectors were good... Checked the codes again and suddenly I'm throwing a coolant temp sensor, and the one right on top looked like it was in rough shape just from a glance, so I drop some coolant out and change it and then when I fill it back up I noticed that it's taking a lot more than I drained... Eventually it gets high enough for liquid to starting pouring out of a pair of maybe 5mm holes in the coolant return hose coming off the block on the driver's side. *Facepalm* Gotta go in the AM to pick up the replacement bit of hose and I'll check back in after that. *Fingers crossed* Statisti ..read more

Does anyone have a suggestion at this point? I don’t feel like I should be talked into a new transmission (which at this point not sure actually exists) without any codes. I would be hard pressed to have that done and the problem still persists, so I don’t think I can even remotely consider it. It still seems like 0.14 volts might be too low for rear oxygen sensor. But not sure if that means the cats are clogged. Statistics: Posted by 98_Q45 — Fri May 24, 2024 8:29 pm ..read more
