Hard shift from 5th to 6th gear in 2018 RTL-T FWD

I have a 2018 RTL-T, FWD with almost 100k miles. I'd been behind on changing the transmission fluid and recently completed 3x DW-1 drain/fills with about 3k miles between each. Prior to the first drain/fill I was getting a jutter around 45 mph, which was resolved after the first drain/fill. After the second drain/fill the truck began shifting hard to 6th gear, and the hard shift remains after the 3rd drain/fill. The hard shift occurs when shifting to 6th around 50 mph, noticeable as a... Hard shift from 5th to 6th gear in 2018 RTL-T FWD ..read more

Love the 2021 HPD package, but the wheels I'm not sure about keeping. Thinking about powder coating black or just some black after markets, but Im thinking I want to stay factory. Anyone out there had these refinished? If so pics? Thanks everyone ..read more

Collision mitigation system problem Amber warning

I was driving with a canoe on the roof, when the “brake!” Warning kept coming on for oncoming traffic in the other lane, as this seems to happen regularly I wasn’t concerned. But then it kept happening until finally it must’ve thought there was a fault and sent the “collision mitigation system problem” amber code to the dash. Since I had a bow line configured with bungee hooks right over the H emblem (which I know is used for the radar system) I figured that had to be triggering the... Timing Belt

Has anyone had their timing belt replaced? If so, why and at what mileage? If not, why? My Ridgeline is approaching 125K. I had planned on getting it replaced at 100K, but keep putting it off. I mentioned it to a friend of mine that had an older 1G, and he said that he never changed his and it lasted him over 300K miles before he sold it. On one hand, the vehicle is worthless if the engine gets trashed from a busted timing belt. On the other hand, "what could go wrong" from an... Timing Belt ..read more

After a year of ownership: thoughts on the shifter buttons vs "stick"

After a great year of ownership of a RL, and after being quite "anti-shift-button", I realized that I now could almost care less that I don't have the traditional shifter. My brain has taken over what to do, and I don't even think about having to press the buttons. There are actually safety advantages to the button system, and while I won't say I "prefer" it, I'm 100% fine with it. I am sure I am in the minority, but figured a poll would be fun for folks who have owned the RL long enough... After a year of ownership: thoughts on the shifter buttons vs "stick ..read more

Emission Control Warning

I was downtown running some errands and got the "Emission Control Warning Light. Also got the AWD warning light but that disappeared quickly. Had two more drive cycles and it stayed on. Got in this morning and no warning light. Not sure if its a coincidence but my battery also died overnight on the weekend. I boosted it and have been driving 5 days with no battery issues. No warning lights any more. No change in how the truck drives/handles/runs. A couple drive cycles today and all... Emission Control Warning ..read more

‘22 Ridgeline Transmission

Hi all, love reading posts in this forum. Have found it to be very informative. I’m hoping for some insight regarding the 9 speed transmission in my ‘22 Ridgeline sport. When down shifting, whether I do it manually, in sport mode, or when it does it automatically, in regular driving mode, it feels like it goes into neutral first then into the gear. Engine rpm increases also before going into gear, I’m assuming for rev matching? When going downhill it actually lurches forward gaining speed... ‘22 Ridgeline Transmission ..read more
