Hi all IV had a Kyosho Hyperfly RC helicopter for years for the people who don't know it was made in the 80s without a rear rotor instead it as a frisbee, look it up. Anyway iv always been afraid to fly it because of the power that comes off the blades I fear will decapitated me lol ?  What should I do keep letting sit on top of my wardrobe for me to dust it every week or is there a museum for this sort of stuff iv never flown an RC helicopter I intended to but never did and if I try and fly it then I can say goodbye to 40 years and so of history and that would be ashame. She still works ..read more

2 new arrivals this festive season! First up, a little co-ax Blade Scout. Didn;t have one...and this turned up for less than £10, so I had to rehome it. Came with original box and packing, but the canopy was split quite badly along the underside. A replacement is on it's way. It's not really a regular flyer, but it fills out the collection.   Second new arrival was an absolute bargain! Blade MCPx. New in box. Box had been opened by heli never flown. You can tell it hasn;t. Not a mark on the blades, canopy or tail, and the gears have no marks to indicate wear or use. No grubby marks or fl ..read more

The idea is nothing new but I can't say I've seen or heard of many people trying this. Especially in the UK. I've recently purchased a Prusa MK4 3D Printer and the files needed to print a Lockheed P-38 Lightning & P51-D Mustang. The P51-D Mustang is an easier plane to build and so I'll try that first. Just wondering if anyone else has tried 3D printing planes? If so, how was your experience ..read more

Foam or balsa?

No question, it’s amazing what they can do with foam. And for a workhorse plane where appearance isn’t a concern they check a lot of boxes. I’ve seen wood models shrug off things that would put a foamy out of action (albeit temporarily). I’ve also seen foamies sent to the repair hangar by things a wood model would barely notice. Now, in a full-on crash… yeah the turn-around time for repair definitely favours the foamy, especially if looks aren’t a factor. Thoughts ..read more
