Whenever I open a new .doc or .docx file (typically downloaded from the Internet, or attached to email I have received), LibreOffice opens a lot of toolbars, cluttering my window and reducing the available space. Even though I close those toolbars, they are opened again on the next opening.
How can I tell LibreOffice to open only the toolbars I want (just a couple of them ..read more

I set up a FreeBSD 14 (GhostBSD) box with a complete set of my GnuPG keys. Encryption/Decryption on the cli works as expected.
I am used to encrypt files within LibreOffice on Linux (on the same machine) and Windows. But in the installation (from the binaries not the ports collection) on Ghost BSD (version 24.2.0.3 X86_64) the control panel "User data" (German: "Benutzerdaten") lacks the entries for signing and en-/decryption with OpenPGP. gpg has version 2.4.4., libgcrypt 1.10.3.
How can I get this feature also on GhostBSD ..read more

Until today, when I closed any LibreOffice application (e.g. Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress, etc.) in Linux Mint, the expected happened: LibreOffice would close.
Now, suddenly, when I close any LibreOffice application, the LibreOffice file picker (AKA the LibreOffice loader/launcher) is displayed.
LibreOffice did not have any recent updates.
What caused this, and how do I fix this ..read more

In LibreOffice Calc, how does one change the colours of the text in the header rows and columns? I'm referring to the "A", "B", "C", ... and "1", "2", "3" ... as in the screenshot below.
Also, how does one change the colours of the lines within each header (not referring to grid lines within the spreadsheet itself)?
They are too bright for my preference. Distro is Linux Mint ..read more

I used a VLOOKUP function on some cells, and got lots of #N/A among some results. I then later copy/pasted them as values to another sheet. So now I have a column with a few numbers and several #N/As.
I simply want to textually replace all #N/As with zero. But if I use the Edit -> Find and Replace... menu, and then put #N/A in the "Find:" field, it doesn't find anything. The same happens if I search #N/A in the Find bar (via Ctrl+F).
How can I just quickly find and replace these values? I don't want to modify the formulas I use; other spreadsheet editors do allow searching for such values ..read more

I'm wondering if it is possible to set an image to the LibreOffice Writer "Application Background". This is the area in blue the attached image. I can modify the color of this area by going to tools -> options -> Application colors -> Application background but I'm not seeing an option to use an image rather than a solid color. Is this possible? I'm using LibreOffice Writer 7 ..read more

When open cells to modify details on the change page it opens longer down than shows on my monitor(s).
LibreOffice has similar results with both ubuntu and openSUSE.
How can we change page to re-set size (eg 80% size) to ensure depth, width (?) fits the page, or scroll down, so can read all change page ?

I am following the instructions on how to install LibreOffice on Fedora which is what I believe Amazon Linux 2023 uses under the hood:
https://tecadmin.net/install-libreoffice-on-fedora/
I can download and extract the zip package. However, when I run dnf install RPMS/*.rpm, I get the following error:
error: No package matches 'RPMS/libobasis7.6-base-7.6.4.1-1.x86_64.rpm'
The content of the RPMS folder is as follows:

I am using LibreOffice v7.1. I have a sentence that have to end with citation/footnote. For example, the following sentence has a word and footnote 1.
