I have a 20TB internal hard drive I purchased that's brand new. When trying to format in Gparted it give's me these two error's, 'error while reading /dev/sdbb' and 'The backup GPT table is corrupt, but the primary appears OK, so that will be used.' I tried to install linux mint on the drive it seemed to copy the data over but didn't boot. I'm sure it's something simple but im not having luck accessing the drive. Thanks. when i connect External Hard Drive and type in powershell as administrator: Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_DiskDrive | Select-Object PNPDeviceID, MediaType i get MediaType as "External hard disk media" for external one and "Fixed hard disk media" for internal hard disk. My question is: Is this MediaType for external Hard Drives is consistent, can i use this to filter externals or will it change at some place? I have a hard drive WD 3TB SATA III WD30EZRX GREEN 64MB When I connect it to Linux/Windows/Mac OS using 3 different sata hard drive beds it shows different sizes of the hard drive. When I use bed provided by WD it says correctly the size is 3T and all data is intact. When I open it in other beds is consistently shows something like ˜800 Gb size. I am working on a microcontroller system that was hooked up to some motors. I am worried I had some back EMF fry something. I thought I would be safe by working off an SD card rather than internal flash memory. However after the event which was not crazy (just I know my board died) I cannot read my SD card on a Mac which runs linux. I get a message "The disk you attached was not readable by this computer" Does that mean the files are corrupted or is that because the the card was flashed with a bootable image for an ARM SOC "Beaglebone Black" and not regular linux.
