Alright - so here is the skinny. We got our first hunting dog (dog in general) and she is a Pudelpointer (no not a poodle mix/cross) and is she loves hunting and being out in the woods, field, or slough. She is now 18 months and next season I shouldn't have a 10-11 day sheep hunt in the middle of waterfowl season. Opening day ducks. Unfortunately, I did not get a lot of video of ducks getting shot where you had a good look at the duck. On opening day with all the shooting going on we do a lot of pass shooting. Got our 1.5 year old out on some ducks and missed too many shots but got a couple to fall. As weather turned I decided to get her a Vest - two things happened. She went into heat (second cycle so need to schedule with the vet) and the vest rubbed her armpits raw. Wondering if any of you in So. Central are doing any good? Night before last a buddy or mine managed to time it right and had a heck of a shoot. He thinks he may have got lucky when a bunch of northern birds happened to come in. Said he even took a few shots at some snows. Said it was probably the best shooting he's ever had in a one hours' time period. He wanted me to go last night so I did, and it was dead.... nothing flying at all. How'd you guys do yesterday? Don't know if you guys in Anchorage had the wind we did but hope all were safe with the huge tides and big wind. We basically were pass shooting all day. Threw out a couple deeks when the tide came back up. Took us all day and into the evening to end up with two limits but shot WAAAAY too many shells getting them!
