Well, I can't complain about how my season has been. We have done pretty darn good considering that we only hunted on Saturday. Last season I shot 27 ducks. This season between my 2 oldest grandsons, friends and I, we shot a total of 54 birds and 2 geese. The 2 hunts that were the best were when my grandsons, Jesse and Casey, shot their very first ducks. I have noticed a lot of mention of buying decoys and building blinds and waking up early but when I was walking too and from squirrel hunting spots I scared up ducks at almost close enough ranges to shoot and I wasn't trying to be quiet. I was thinking if I had a shotgun I could sneak down there and get a couple real easy without much fuss. I haven’t been duck hunting in probably 25 years, but deer hunting has proven unproductive this week. I had never fished the river until 3 years ago and found that I really enjoy that, so I decided capitalize on what I have available to me and see if I might want to get back into duck hunting.
