Added some edits above. For sleeping, it can help to have a small warm blank (or I use my fleece) to wrap around your feet. A hat is a must and a buff. I pull the hat down to the rip of my nose, and the buff up around my chin. The head and neck are warm. I layer in my bag, as I am a cold sleeper, so a zip-up fleece on more torso helps. I also stuff a down throw blanket in the bottom of the bag, and I might pull it up along the inner zipper (I will double bag), then I can drag it over me in my bag, or tuck it around any cold areas. Well done! Keep your water bottle in a sock in your sleeping bag. Double-check the lid. The sock with absorb any leakage if you miss it, and keep the water from burning you, or chilling you if it cools. I prefer to use boiled and then slightly cooled water (depends on what your bottle is made of, so try it at home first so you don't melt it) - I tuck it near my core when I climb in, and I am nicely warmed. Large water containers should be turned upside down and buried until needed. It is my first-time winter camping in a summer tent at -23° C. I chose to go to Algonquin Park, an area I didn't explore before. With a forecast of 2 sunny days and a minimum of -15°C during the night, I jumped at the occasion. They were wrong about the night temperatures.
