All of a sudden a VPN connection to my home network has become imperative for me, but I can't get it to work; I seem to be almost there - but not quite At home, I duely set-up my Windows 7 desktop for incoming connections and configered the router. The client setup (windows 7 as well) gave me more headaches, but I am now at a stage where it connects without any complaints. The messages fly by very fast, but I think the last one is "Registering computer on the network". The connections... Read more ..read more

Also for that machine most of the time. but sometimes it will boot with no connection - though 'connections available' and sometimes even with 'no connections found' where the previous night it was working perfectly. sometimes set DNS to auto fixes it. sometimes set DNS to a fixed address fixes it. IPv6 on or off the same. No matter what - the problem comes back. The troubleshooter does dumb... Read more ..read more

At a loss. Wifi 6 router transferring files between a Win10 and Win11 machine. Wifi 6 adapters on both computers. Internet speeds are much faster than the transfer speeds between the two machines. For instance, a 50 megabyte file takes over a minute to copy. Understand it is tough to diagnose with such limited information, but if I am missing something obvious, please advise. Thank you ..read more

They are many weeks I've been struggling with sharing issue on my network and as it is said "a picture is worth a thousand words" so here what is happening and what I don't understand. Does someone have a clue ? Of course, files & folders sharing is set, all on the same workgroup, network discovery ON, network is of private mode with DHCP and the issue occurs whatever AV & firewall are ON or OFF. The odd thing is that if I can't ping desktop from laptop by IP, it works in netbios but in... Read more ..read more
