Hey, So I have a couple of devices showing up on my router that are unfamiliar. One of them appears to look like it's from amazon and the other one is from audiocast. My wifi is protected by password (a really good and long one, I think). Could it be because I use amazon? I don't even use audiocast though I'm not sure what that is. I've been running W8.1 - 64 bit on an Asus m3a78 motherboard for about 10 years with no problems. AMD processor. Up until now, my ISP provided me with "up to" 100 Mb - no problems there. I now have an "up to" 500 Mb fiber service. The wired speed tests all read around 80-90 Mb up and down, day or night. I can take my Apple laptop, remove the connection from my desktop and wire directly to the laptop. Speed test 450 Mb or above. Stumped! Everything works fine, no hangups or unexplained... Hello, I signed up for a DNS service a while back. When I stopped using their service I removed their DNS entry from the ipv4 settings and considered it done (this was all they stated for install/uninstall, just update the DNS in ipv4) At random, the PC will revert back to their DNS server. I'm helping a friend, blind leading the blind at some points but his laptop doesn't appear to be used much, or abused (about 8 years old he thought). I cannot connect it to the internet though, and his internet does work fine on other devices such as smart-tv. Tried wired, and a switched cable as well, still no connection.
