I have a couple of friends that are retired electrical engineers. I was showing them my 2005 alpine MDDS. When they saw the Vansco 2820 unit, I explained how I was looking for a spare because if they go down I would be stuck because they are no longer made. One of them said he was familiar with this technology. If I could find a non working unit for him to experiment on, he felt he may be able to fix it. So if anyone has a "bad" vansco sitting around I would like to obtain it. If this gentlemen is successful in repairing one of these, it maybe beneficial for all who own 2004 to 2009 Alpines ..read more

Attachment 407667 I found a loose wire attached to the fan low/high knob circled in picture, causing fan to cycle on and off. What’s the easiest way to pull that knob out/ get good access to fix the loose connection? I Can barely reach the wire by removing the cover to the fuse panel at entry door but not close enough. Thought about removing the radio, looking for suggestions Cheers Bob Attached Thumbnails   ..read more

Just back home from a 2 week western adventure. Went on my annual hawking trip in New Mexico from Georgia. Coach gave a couple of issues while gone. Nothing that couldn’t be dealt with though. First, not long after heading out, I lost my heat/air from the dash vents. It would only blow from the defrost vents. A quick stop at a rest area revealed a vacuum line had come off on thefirewall. Easy fix. Next, while hooked to 50 amp service, I happened to notice that the fridge was running on propane rather than electric. A little googling and testing resulted in finding a blown 5 amp glass fuse on ..read more

Been having an issue with no jake brakes on 2003 Alpine with 400 Cummins ISL and Allison transmission. Had it at Peterbilt and they ran a temporary wire from switch to jakes. They worked. Then had unit in Cummins for loss of power. They replaced the wiring harness and power is restored. However no jakes again. Cummins tells me they think I have the wrong jake switch but they cannot get any information about the Alpine. So, does anyone have a part number for the correct Jacob brake switch for this coach. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated ..read more

Who’s installed a Ham radio on their Alpine? Lookin for suggestions on antenna mounting and routing antenna cable inside. I saw these 2 antenna on the roof between the horns, anyone know what antenna these are? Looks like the antenna cable is routed under the front AC. Looks like a good place to install another antenna and follow the wiring side. Open to suggestions Big picture thinking about routing radio into cabinet above drivers seat, hand mike mounted by TV and a speaker in passenger side overhead cabinet. We do a lot of dry camping in the desert and want to have speaker by the front s ..read more

My 2003 FDTS has the water pump intake on the side of the tank causing the pump to run dry before the tank does. I see takepride and others have added a tee just above the freshwater dump valve and relocated the inlet there to be able use the full tank volume. What tee size/type is needed to join the tank and dump valve and how do I seal the old unused inlet ..read more
