I replaced my head gasket and put everything back together but now my car won't start. I think it's most likely a timing issue because I can't think of anything else it could be. All the electronics should be fine, all the gaskets look good, and nothing is leaking. It did have an extended crank-to-start problem before which I thought might be the fuel injectors but I'm not entirely sure. Guys, need some insight as I have never seen this before. Symptom: 2004 Xterra 2.4L, manual, blew out #3 spark plug boot Situation: was driving on the highway after filling up the tank. Lost power and shut off. After failed restart attempt, opened the hood and found the #3 spark plug wire missing from the plug hole. Does anyone have the dimensions for the mounting hole? It's actually rectangular. I'm replacing the OEM radio with aftermarket so I need to know what to order with the new head unit. From what I've been able to determine, the existing USB port won't connect to the USB cable coming out of the aftermarket radio. I need to replace the existing port along with it's cabling with a panel mount and cable that can plug into the USB cable coming out of the radio. Hi, first post here--I have a '12 Nissan Xterra S Model manual transmission with 219k miles in need of a rear end assembly. Brand new dealer part is $6,000. I have been told there is no choice but to buy entire new rear end assembly, can't cherry pick the parts. Mechanic says he can't find a used rear end assembly anywhere for this vehicle type. Unbelievable, dark night, 75 mph and everything goes out, even headlights. I was traveling with my Xterra into the mountains on the highway. Most of the drive was raining and I think the rain is what is causing the issue. During the drive the car started slipping from 3th to 5th gear. As the drive got steeper and rained more the car really started slipping and not shifting. Eventually the lower gears had issues as well and the car finally lost all power and turned off. I let the car sit for about 30 min and was able to turn it back on and drive around. The... I don't know if I'm getting bogus data from my BlueDriver scan tool but it's showing the #1 cylinder timing varying from -0.5 to 32 degrees over a 10 minute drive time. Engine is at normal operating temperature of 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Is it a bad scantool or is it a problem? Bad timing chain(s)? Other than a vibration at idle and a shudder going from park to drive the vehicle seems to drive OK. LTFT is +3 to +9.4 (mostly at 9.4) on both banks. Vehicle has 58,000 miles on it.
