I just adore how today’s project worked out! I made a card like this last year with the Dainty Delight flowers, but never blogged it. So I’ve remade it, possibly even better, with the cute paw prints from the By Your Side stamp set. This project idea is perfect for someone who has just lost a pet (also referred to as “crossing the rainbow bridge”), or even for someone who just loves both rainbows and animals. I used the Deckled Circles dies for the rainbow bands, which made it quick and easy. The sentiments from the By Your Side stamp set are just perfect for pet layouts or cards, but also r ..read more

New Basic Beige! with Simply Zinnias
Stamp Happy Blog

Not only do we have the five new 2024 In Colors the year, but Stampin’ Up! has also added in a new color to the basics range: Basic Beige! This new color is a lot lighter than Crumb Cake, and less yellow than Very Vanilla. I’ve paired it here with Basic Black and a few bright colors with the Simply Zinnias bundle; For these samples, I used both Poppy Parade and the new Petunia Pop for a splash of happy brightness against the neutrals. I like the look of the Basic Beige with the accent of black. I colored the flowers in with Stampin’ Blends for a vibrant effect. I kept the rest of the card fa ..read more

By Your Side Cat or Dog Paw Print Scrapbooking Layout
Stamp Happy Blog

I’m thrilled to share with you another scrapbooking page today, this one featuring the more furry members of the family! Many of us have pets, and it’s really nice to do a layout just for them once in a while. After all, they are a member of the family, too. I used the By Your Side stamp set for this design, and the layout was inspired by the background design by Eimear Carvill: For this layout, I used the new Country Woods and the Country Lace papers (available 1 May, 2024). I cut various squares with the Stylish Shapes dies, adding a nice stitched detail to each square. These adorable paw ..read more

Spotlight Technique: Doggone Friendly with Comforting Thoughts

For my stamping friends who love dogs, or who stamp cards for friends who have dogs, today’s project is for you! This project features both the Doggone Friendly large background stamp and the new Comforting Thoughts stamp set: I just love the pairing of this particular sentiment with this fun image. The Doggone Friendly stamp is actually quite large, covering the entire card front. The technique of just coloring part of the image to make it stand out is called spotlighting, and it’s a great technique for very large images. I did still use the size of the image to stamp a tone-on-tone backgro ..read more

Today’s share is one that is near and dear to my heart because it celebrates our furry family members (the ones with four legs!). I think the By Your Side Kit is very cute, but even when the projects are finished, you still have an adorable stamp set with paw prints and fun sentiments. I’ve also teamed up with the Pet Refuge, and with every By Your Side Kit purchased through THIS LINK, $15 NZD will be donated to the New Zealand Pet Refuge, a much needed service to help owners and their pets escape abusive situations. If you live overseas or already have the By Your Side kit, you can purchase t ..read more

New Peach Pie: With the Warm Welcome Cats
Stamp Happy Blog

Today I’d like to introduce you to the third of the five new Stampin’ Up! In Colors: Peach Pie! While I’m not a huge fan of orange shades myself, they still do have their place. A little splash of a soft orange in a bouquet, for example, can be quite striking. And Peach Pie leans more towards a peach than an orange. Here is how Peach Pie compares to the existing colors in the Stampin’ Up! range: And for my sample, it’s the perfect color to make a cute card with three orange (ginger) cats. I’ve used the little cat from the Warm Welcome stamp set: My team member, Helen Wigham, made a swap card ..read more

The self-locking box is a great project for gifting a small item, and it’s really quite easy to make. Inspired by Created the Ottaway, I created my version with slightly different measurements and using the Crafting with you stamps and dies: The Crafting with You die and stamp set is a great one for this little project – perfect for putting some ribbons, embellishments, or some sewing supplies in a little box as a gift for someone crafty. Cute! I’ve used the new Mediterranean Blooms papers here on the box, which will be available 1 May. The little circle with the thread and scissors slides u ..read more

New! Meet Petunia Pop: with the Lovely Layers Bundle

Let’s take a look at the brand new Petunia Pop color! This one is probably my favorite of the few new colors (so far), so this was fun to play with. Petunia Pop seems to tone in very nicely with the Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia: For my example card, I used Petunia Pop, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, and Blackberry Bliss. All five of these do work together quite well. For my sample, I used the new Layers of Beauty bundle, one that is coming 1 May (or you can order it now in your Starter Kit), and this bundle includes stamps, dies, and masks. But for today, I used just the stamps: I ..read more

New 2024 In Colors: Shy Shamrock with the Leaf Collection
Stamp Happy Blog

In last week’s Facebook Live, I focused on the brand new 2024 In Colors and how they compared to the current colors in the collection. So this week on the blog, I’d like to share the projects I made with each of the brand new colors. Today I’ll feature Shy Shamrock: For this sample, I’ve featured the upcoming Leaf Collection stamp. It’s one large stamp, perfect for subtle backgrounds or bold, main images, as in this example. My card today was inspired by a sample right out of the catalogue. I’ve paired the new Shy Shamrock with both Shaded Spruce and Pool Party for a soft, monochromatic effec ..read more

Cutest Cows Easy Pop Up Box Card- Free PDF Template
Stamp Happy Blog

Today’s share is a cute pop up box card, another variation from the Flight & Airy Pop Up Box Card I posted earlier this year. This is such a fun card template; you can put any items on the pop up “bridges” that suits you and the person receiving your card. For this version, I’ve used the Cutest Cow stamp and punch set, paired with the Paper Florist dies for some happy daisies. The Paper Florist dies are retiring at the end of April, so be sure to grab those, especially while they are on discount. I also used the Everyday Details dies for the circles in the back. I love the dots around the ..read more
