I have a 2000 v40. The problem is that I recently installed an aftermarket stereo which worked fine. Yesterday it stopped working (won't turn on at all), my trip odometer and dash clock get reset each time I start the car, the cabin dome lights do not come on, and the dash light saying a door is open stays on although I've made sure all the doors are shut. Thanks for having me in the group, naturally I'm here because of a problem - 2003 S40 idles and revs in park normally, stumbles while in gear, seems to play nice as long as I don't press on the accelerator while in gear) Think it's to do with the fuel system or maybe it's in Limp Home Mode, but I'm far from experienced at this. Had EVAP codes, replaced the booster solenoid, boost sensor, and all the vacuum lines around and attached to the fuel pressure regulator, replaced the air filter. What a coincidence! Your Volvo V40 has the same problem as mine. I discovered that my driver's door handle was broken and am trying to have it fixed. I was trying to find a replacement part but I really am not sure if the ones I saw were compatible with my car. Have you solved your problem? The parking lights on my Volvo V40 2000 B4204T2 went recently out. They came on briefly again but than died all together. I searched the Internet and only found post that fix the head light low beam and dipped beams. Checked the fuses but all good. So, i pulled the CEM module on the driver side (RHD car) above the compartment fuse box. I managed to locate the relay functions so that's handy if you're after this information. Water pump locked and threw the timing belt. Bent valves & head off to the machine shop. Put all back together again, retimed from scratch and replaced vacuum lines as needed. PCV job done last summer. Runs great, but whirring likely from the turbo only under load. Has boost and no leaks. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hi, just checked it again. The defrost is not on. Found something interesting. When I press the fan switch inside towards the panel the a/c turns off.
