My daughter has a 2005 S40 T5, she bought it a month ago and it had/has a problem: when making a right-hand turn at any measurable speed, there is a grinding noise coming from the right front of the car. I doesn't make it when: complete stop, wheel turned to full right lock, start turn; or, constant low speed, gentle right turn. I bought a 2009 S40 last week and the air conditioner worked great for a couple days and then it stopped blowing cold air. I turned the car off for 30 min and then it blew cold for a bit, but turned hot later. Some times it will blow cold and some times not for no apparent reason. I took it to an AC repair shop and he said the condenser temperature sensor was going out. I would like to replace this sensor my self and save the money on the labor. Hello! My mother just purchased a used 2011 S40 with the 2.5 turbo engine. Coming from a late 90s Toyota she really liked the car. She did test drive the car but did not take it on the highway which is convenient for me.. Applying the brakes at highway speeds results in a pretty decent shake in the front end and a faint audible sound. Hi All I have a Volvo S40 2007 and I'm having strange issues with the dash board! I have a 2010 S40 2.4l diesel with manual gears that has developed an intermittent ignition problem, often when starting the car I turn the key, depress the clutch but nothing happens just a message on the dashboard saying "key error please try again" sometimes it will start up straightaway but often can take a frustrating number of minutes before catching....has anyone else had this or a similar fault and managed to pinpoint what the problem was? cheers Griff ..read more

Good day to you all. I've been working on my '06 S40 for The better part of a month and I've hit a wall. To put it in perspective, I've done the friction disc, pressure plate, motor mounts, transmission mount, LF axle, thermostat and housing and all the coolant hoses. So, I've had the thing completely apart. When I got it all back together and I put the key in, I get some dash lights and proceed to turn the ignition to the start position and all goes dead.
