So tonight I was out at Shanghai and when I came out I saw a girl being hassled by two others and I had to step in to stop her from being abused by the people who were around her. This has never happened in the time that I’ve been in Edinburgh (nearly 10 years) and I’m genuinely shocked that this could happen to someone for no reason at all…

Hi all
A year ago, I was pulled into my home country’s army. Without considering any of the moral, ethical, or personal issues suutounding the whole procedure and shebang, I do kind of miss some tiny parts of it. In the spirit of this, I have the following question:
Are there any NON-MILITARY drill units in Edinburgh? I actually miss doing drill; I miss the uniform responses and the rest of it. I cannot stress strongly enough that it cannot be part of any military unit (because I would lose my home country’s citizenship).
Is there anything like that in Edinburgh? Or maybe even further afield ..read more

Hi there, I'm curious what temperatures you keep in your flat during these cold days - when it's around 0C - in Edinburgh.
We have a ground floor flat in a historic building with many large double pane windows. Although we set the thermostat to 18.5C, it usually won't reach above 16.5C. Is this normal? Or too cold?
*Edit for clarity: We already have secondary glazed windows.
Thanks for responses. Yes, we do manage by wearing layers, using electric blanket and additional space heater. We are mainly interested in learning if this situation is usual for many people living in older tenement build ..read more

Hi all! I've been looking into getting nipple piercings done somewhere in Edinburgh (somewhere easily accessed from the train station/Prince's street). I've been looking at Studio 13, but any other recommendations/any personal stories with Studio 13 would be great. Thanks!

Hi everyone, looking for a good place for chicken wings in Edinburgh.
Tried up to now, BrewDog, Wings, Buck’s but they were “ok” and ridiculously priced (at least the first two).
It looks like the city mastered the burgers but chicken wings have still long road to go.
Any recommendations based on experiences or “words of mouth”?
