But we had a great hunt today. The pic doesn't do it justice. Saw 7 or 8. 2 in trees too close to a house that I have been scolded for before. 2 or 3 made dens. A fella GON brother, invited me to go squirrel hunting. He had a new dog only had a week that we took because his female was in heat. We absolutely had a HOOT! The squirrels weren't moving to good but listening to the dog and the camaraderie of the hunt is more thrilling than the kill. We ended up meeting up with another nice fella with a Kimber dog (I believe that's right) and we had a big time. We ended up with one squirrel the only one seen all day but it was a blast. Hi all, new to the site here and moved back to GA after several years away. I'm in the augusta area, any coon hunters around willing to let a novice tag along? or anyone know of a hunt club in the area? I have a 2 year old fiest who is starting to put it together. She hunts with her eyes, ears, and nose. If a squirrel timbers, she follows it. She’s no champion, but a fine pleasure hunting dog. My question to others who hunt with dogs is what do you prefer, mornings or evenings?
I understand that most of us just go when we can, but if you had a month of Saturdays and had to choose, which would it be? Additionally, do you prefer cloudy or blue bird sky days?
