Hey all! Long time lurker but what the heck I'll post about my Beetle. It's a 2001 and it's my first car which I believe is awesome considering I'm only 19! Bought it from my dad who owned it for 15 years so I grew up in the bug. As a first car I love it, cheap and fun to drive with the whooshing and the shifts... My ALH New Beetle 5 Speed ..read more

\'01 NB GLS TDI Yesterday morning we took delivery of a 2001 NB GLS TDI (yellow, box stock). Our dealer found 1 car in 11 states that didn't have the danged hole in the roof. (And was yellow/grey. And was TDI.) We bought this car to keep, and to keep from racking up miles on the T & C my wife drives to work daily. I have but one question (for now). Why dosen't VW put the TDI badge on this car, and can I get one and put it on if I want to ..read more

Hello everyone, After losing my 2000 NB TDI. My wife and I decided to get another Beetle TDI. We love it. It's a 2012 Beetle with panaroof, fender sound system. The DSG is really nice. SHe can drive it. I miss driving stick. I could not save it the NB, somehow the fuel lines and radiator lines broke and leak everywhere. My oil housing up front was also broken. It would not start at all... 2012 Beetle TDI ..read more

An Innocuous Beginning It was Valentines Day, 2015, and my other half did what any sensible woman would do on such a day: She bought her man a non-running 2000 New Beetle TDI. The Craigslist listing advertised “New turbo still in the box!” What I discovered was a Prothe cartridge in a beat up, moldy box, and the original turbo in pieces and covered in rust. I quickly lost any motivation I’d had to put the car together and run it as-is. However, with the knowledge that the previous... Cesar the Valentine Beetle: A Build Thread ..read more

Long time lurker, first time poster. My name is Colin, and I'm from central Minnesota. I got a good deal on this car back in the autumn. It's been in a collision and bears a salvage brand on the title, and it was in need of some TLC. Someone had used epoxy to patch a crack in the intercooler end tank, which had peeled back and caused a boost leak. Additionally, the pump timing was severely retarded, it needed a couple wheel bearings, the handbrake cable sleeves had collapsed, the... '00 Beetle TDIsore ..read more
