I own a 2012 2.0tsi manual transmission beetle. I am wanting to do a tune..I'd like a tune you can flash the ECU with an access port. Do they do this for these cars? I own a 21 subie WRX and can flash the ECU at will with a tunes from the access port. Or what about something from like race chip that plugs into the car and changes readings and how it performs without flashing or changing an ECU? Hi, The shop just finished diagnosing the car and they said the amplifier is bad and causing the battery to drain. Is there a good fix for this that doesnt involve paying the high price (around $1k part) The car has the factory radio installed. I tried doing a search but only found info pertinent to older models. Today is the second time our 2013 beetle convertible has turned off while driving. First time I was behind the wheel and this time my wife (pregnant) was driving as it lost power. What the heck is going on with this thing? I've seen some random posts on the web with others with similar issues. I did a search here and did not see anything unless I missed it. my fiancé was in an accident not too long ago and the frame rails got bent pretty badly, it was an automatic 2.0, and I had purchased a 2000 new beetle, it originally had a manual 1.8T. I’m currently swapping the auto trans and 2.0 into and noticed that under the dashboard, where the TCM harness connects to go into the dash (if that makes sense?) is missing a plug. so, after having intermittent issues with the DBW on a 2007 VW new beetle, i bought a new plug, and attempted to splice it in at the throttle body - didn't realize until after i'd cut the existing plug off that there are 2 black wires - so, when went to hook up the new plug, can't tell which one of those two goes to which of the two connections on the plug. i have searched and it looks like one wire is +5v and other not used? - somewhere else it showed the other one as ground?
