HELLO ALL, I'm new to the world of VW, my daughter loves the beetle so I got her one. It has been running great then had a couple of hiccups and it sat for a couple of months. I got it all back running and driving great when the driver window regulator went out. Replaced it and figured it would be a perfect time for a full maintenance session. Hi all I have let the battery go flat on my 2003 VW Beetle, and can’t get into the car to pop the bonnet. The driver’s door lock was seized up, as I used to use a key fob. After a lot of WD40, I can now turn the key in the lock the but it stays locked. Any advice as to how to get under the bonnet to remove the battery to charge it? The key turns 90 degrees, is it meant to turn further? Or do you have to have charge in the battery for the lock to disengage? Any advice gratefully received ..read more

So daughters beetle just stop running in driveway the other day. It would crank but no fire. I sprayed starting fluid and it tried to fire. So I got spark. I pull the fp harness and no power at fp. All fuses are good on left side of dash. And fuel relay under steering wheel test good. Does power go to ecm 1st and then to relay and or fuse then to pump. I have a 2008 2.5 Manuel new beetle. i changed the spark plugs and coils do to misfires when i did that there was water in the old coils do to sitting for a long time. i change fuel filter and cleaned old gas out. dried out water and no sparks. i have checked all fuses. it will crank but no spark. please help ..read more

The passenger side door lock actuator failed on our 2004 Beetle cabriolet. I believe it is related to the actuator lever not fully returning and 'resetting' the mechanism. This went whilst the door was shut. I followed the youtube stuff to remove the grooved peg in the door handle and get the door card slightly off. After 3 hours of fiddling the door popped open. I was able to remove the door handle lock but did not have the mutlipointed tool to remove the acutator. I re-closed the door as...
