Unfortunately, the titular “new material” mentioned is not a long-awaited replacement for the Royal Oak, breaking its domination of the Audemars Piguet catalog. It refers to AP unveiling their patented new technique used for combining precious metals to give a stylish and smooth camouflage motif effect to their watches’ composite materials called polychrome gold. British Watchmaker William Wood, known for having released watches related to firefighting continues the theme with a watch which commemorates a famous firefighting vessel.
