Did this ever work? Generally speaking you're not going to be able to do much on filesystems without any symlink support. NTFS will likely work fine, especially since you can symlink the proton prefixes away to a linux native filesystem ..read more

Hello! I did a clean reinstall of Arch today because I was having a lot of problems. Now Minecraft randomly crashes while I'm playing. I tried the following: 1. Disabling all mods -> same result 2. Changing java versions -> same result 3. Moving minecraft to a btrfs SSD -> same result 4. Another launcher -> same result Also before I had a problem that all my system sounds do buzzing sound when minecraft starts, this solved it: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Minecr … n_PipeWire Crash log says the following: # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment ..read more

Hello everyone, Arch linux with linux zen 6.8.9-zen1-2-zen and Plasma 6.0.4. When I plugged the controller for the first time, it was detected and it's inputs were detected by applications such as Steam and MK1. When I unplugged it and plugged it in again, however, neither Steam nore MK1 detected it's input. I could only use the keyboard in MK1. This happened with every reinstall of the entire OS I did, both with the mainline kernel and with the Zen kernel. The controller is detected with the lsusb command, the output of which is "Bus 001 Device 010: ID 045e:0b12 Microsoft Corp. Xbox Controlle ..read more

Hi there, I have an issue where turning on my PC first causes my monitor to be unable to detect the displayport output until I enter my password. If I turn on the monitor first, there's no issue. I use greetd with tuigreet for my login manager. Please let me know what other info I can provide. Thanks ..read more

To preface, I've been running Arch on this same system for about 5 years now, and I migrated from pulseaudio to pipewire a few months ago. Other than re-assigning some output channels with pavucontrol, the migration was pretty much plug and play. My audio setup consists of Steelseries Arctis 7 Headset Generic Logitech computer speakers (two tweeters + sub) The Steelseries Wireless dongle connects via USB, and provides two channels, Game and Chat, which can be mixed between using the slider on the headphones. I don't use the feature at all and always have it rocked to 100% Game mode. The ..read more

FFmpeg: selecting a track by AND-ing multiple metadata keys

Hi. I'd like to extract subtitles from a bunch of different MKV files using FFmpeg. The following command almost does what I want: ffmpeg -i video.mkv -map 0:s:m:language:eng subs.srt But in addition to filtering subtitle tracks based on the language I'd like to filter them based on the title as well. Using the -map option multiple times ORs the match. For example: ffmpeg -i video.mkv -map 0:s:m:language:eng -map 0:s:m:title:SDH subtitle.srt will select all tracks that are either English OR have the "SDH" title. Can I somehow make it so that FFmpeg will only select the track that is both ..read more
