I am perturbed. I would guess that most of us remember when The Colour of Magic was made into a show because a rich older man paid for it so he could play Rincewind despite being forty years too old for the role.
Another more horrible example is A Wizard of Earthsea. Ursula LeGuin wrote a book in which all the characters were people of color. The TV show hired the whitest blond available to play the lead. I've read that LeGuin felt betrayed.

Last night I went to see Alita:Battle Angel I really liked it lots of action and a good back story, kept me entertained throughout the film, when it ended left me wondering if there was going to be a sequel as I was so engrossed I did not realise the film was ending. So I started watching this series on Sky History and highly recommend it to anyone who has access. I do wonder why we never learned more about some of the many important roles women played in history, at school, though.
