Oil and gas pipelines do not require western Naval protection. They cannot be blockaded. They provide constant and secure energy to a nation. This is why the major economic engines of the world are focused on direct connections. Germany has a direct oil pipeline to Russia. At the same time, Russia is building pipelines to China, Japan and other far eastern countries. China owns the pipelines which bring oil and gas from central Asia. Soon this pipeline link will be extended to Iran. The... The future of oil and gas ..read more

There seems to be quite a significant development in Makkah. A while ago the "Muslims only" signs vanished, but the centre of Makkah was still restricted to Muslims and there have been checkpoints on major roads. In the recent weeks and months though I read more and more reports about non-Muslims who had no problems getting into the very city center of Makkah. They did not even have to pretend to be a Muslim. Even the police confirmed that is no longer a problem to visit Makkah as a... Makkah open for everybody now ..read more

Hi all, as you have noticed I have compacted the Saudi forums to four local development and construction forums, and the main page which can be used for everything else. No worries, all threads are still here, it's just that the very old ones don't show up on top any more. The reason for doing is that it is better to have a smaller number of active looking forums, than it is to have a larger group of inactive looking forums. Anyway, let me know if you have ideas or questions ..read more
