Need help getting info on a RB Corvette

so I've checked the forums and haven't found any answers. I see that the s/n lookup won't work on a china made Rock Bass but I just picked this guy up for $300. S/N is RB L 535958-14. All I can tell from what I've researched is that it was built in either Nov or Dec of 2014. I don't know anything else as far as type of wood used on body and neck etc. If this is a cheap version of this bass is it worth upgrading the pups? I'm assuming these aren't the same as the ones put in German versions ..read more

Golden Era?

What years are officially considered the “golden era” of Warwick? I tried a google search and no real definitive info came up. Is there actually a set period or is it just the opinion of certain folks? I realize probably everything 80’s is golden. Just wondering how far into the 90’s it goes. I’m asking because I just bought a 93 Steamer bolt on for a great price. Still awaiting shipping. Regardless of if it’s considered golden or not I’m still excited that it was the first year for the bolt... Read more ..read more

Battery

Guess I have a problem with the 9v battery on my Warwick Thumb. I got it brand new less than three month ago. After about one month it started to distort, crackling, hissing… time for a new battery, although it seemed strange to me on a brand new bass. Anyway replaced the factory 9v with a brand new Duracell Plus and was very careful to unplug the jack everytine the bass was not in use. With the exception of one gig, for the following month and a half I played the instrument in the house for... Read more ..read more

Hi. I am looking to sell my four string fretless corvette standard 1999 serial number C064142 99 I want to know a fair price. The body is bubinga but I do not know about the rest. There are no scratches or dings and it has been in the corner of my room as a piece of art for 15 years. I normally just play my precision. It was set up by a luthier but the action is too low for me. It could be easily corrected. With a new top nut. Any ideas would be appreciated ..read more

How many basses have you gone through to get to your current herd? I currently have 4 as my main players, but have gone through 20 to 25 basses (which is not a lot by some standards) in 30 years to get where I’m at today. Stories, pics are welcomed ..read more
