Growing up, I absolutely loved English Muffins. It was such an easy grab and go breakfast that could be as dressed up as a Egg Sandwich topped with all the fixings or as simple as some Peanut butter or a little Butter and Jam. Regardless, English Muffins are both delicious and now can be easily prepped and stored in your kitchen for the same grab and go experience while remaining Gluten Free and including simple ingredients. Its finally time to admit, its sweater weather. I am a summer girlie through and through, but living in Eastern Washington, winter is clearly unavoidable. The kids have been requesting homemade hot chocolate as soon as they hop out of the car after school and since I have stopped drinking coffee, I can’t help but join in on the fun. I have completely changed the way I look at my pantry lately. If we run out of a certain pre-packaged store-bought ingredient (to an extent) I ask myself, “can I make this at home?” And often times, the answer is yes. Example: The kids ran out of the store bought c ..read more

Bless my dear husband’s heart, he loves his bread. He has been Gluten Free since 2017 and the number one thing he says he has missed is “crusty bread”. The kind of bread that goes great with any meal and is excellent with a homemade dipping oil. So there you have it. Straight from the man who hasn’t had “real” bread in years, it’s worth it. I will say, this is not a quick fixer. There is quite a bit of “oven time” if you will. But if you need a way to use your discard, this is one of our favorites. Its not the type of bread that saves. We always eat it same day and then maybe the next. But if ..read more

Buckley | Guest Bathroom

From the Archives | 2020 Our kids had a shared bathroom in our Buckley house. It had a sweet little claw foot tub and I LOVED it. The outside door in that bathroom opened out to the wrap around deck and on warm summer nights, we would open the doors, the kids would take a bath and we would listen to the sweet sounds of crickets, soft mooing from the Highlands and frogs. This little bathroom was connected to our laundry area. We had a stacked washer and dryer right before the bathroom door which made things a little cozy (crammed). We did the best we could with the space we had but when I say t ..read more

From the Archives | 2020 Before we moved to the Ranch, we lived in the sweetest A-frame house in the woods. It was tucked away in a small, quiet town and we were neighbored by the largest Elk herd I have ever seen to date. This house was our first ever “project” home. It was the first home that we had nearly updated every room (besides the flooring; we left that alone in that house). This sweet little kitchen wasn’t going to get any bigger no matter how we rearranged. So we left the cabinets and the countertops alone (they fit the home’s aesthetic of being woodsy). We focused on adding a new f ..read more

Guest Bathroom Project

From the Archives (2019) Similar to the Laundry Room Project at my Mom’s house, we were going with a more rustic theme. (We did utilize the same carpenter for the custom vanity + shelves that we used to create the cabinet / floating shelves and ironing board cover in the laundry room project.) Unlike the Laundry Room Project, this was a nearly complete gut and re-do bathroom. Floors, tile, almost all of the existing bathroom was ripped up and we started fresh. It was a dark bathroom and because it needed a little more light, we decided to cut the wall that hid the toilet, down to a half-wall t ..read more

From the Archives (2019) Did you know I had a blog before this one? For the longest time I wanted to carve out a space to showcase my projects that I have done around the home but the timing just wasn’t right and the perfectionist in me couldn’t get the right platform dialed in. So I’ve sat on these photos of my Home Design projects for years. And also, from the perfectionist in me, my camera / photos from 2019 aren’t what they are today. So don’t judge too hard Its no surprise that I absolutely love all things home decor and design. When I was younger, my Grandma would send me her old AD (A ..read more

DF “Cheese”burger Soup

Anything with cheese is my favorite. When I recently started having more and more of a difficult time processing dairy, I think it quietly broke my heart a little. I refuse to not enjoy cooking or eating, while I’m taking a little break from certain foods. So here is (truly) the best Dairy Free “cheese”burger soup I have made. Print Dairy Free “Cheese”burger Soup A cheeseburger soup so good, you'll forget there isn't any cheese. Prep Time 15 minutes minutes Cook Time 25 minutes minutes Servings 6 Equipment 1 Blender (for the "cheese sauce") 1 Big Pot To cook the soup in Ingredients ..read more
