Individuals with disabilities now have more opportunities to engage in competition than in the past. USA Climbing (USAC) is hosting the 2024 Paraclimbing Nationals Championships on March 9-10 at Sportrock Climbing Center Rio in Gaithersburg, Maryland. To prepare athletes for the competition, ParaCliffHangers, an adaptive climbing nonprofit, is partnering with Touchstone Climbing and USAC to hold a national training camp on Jan. 27-28 at Touchstone Berkeley Ironworks in Berkeley, California. Move United, the national leader in community-based sports and recreation for individuals with disabilities, sent 20 athletes to compete at the 2023 World Abilitysport Games. At the international competition, which took place in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, December 1-9, 2023, a total of 47 medals were earned by athletes, including 10 gold, 21 silver, and 16 bronze.
