The rental home demand increased in the Greater Houston area in July according to a—July Rental Market Update from the Houston Association of Realtors—due to concerns about affordability and high interest rates. Community Impact reported that these trends show the growth of the rental market in the Greater Houston area. The average lease price for single-family homes rose by 3% year over year to reach $2,363, Community Impact reported. Sugar Land and Missouri City ZIP codes have seen a decrease in the average days homes spent on the market in September 2023 compared to September 2022. The 77459 was the ZIP code with the most active sales market with a 19.8% increase year over year. Community Impact reported all major ZIP codes saw decreases in average days homes spent on the market excluding ZIP code 77498, which saw a 84.2% increase in days year over year. Pexels Montgomery County is preparing new emergency shelters for natural disasters countywide, as well as adding new emergency equipment and supplies. The Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is also becoming a regional hub for more rural counties. Marquette Companies—an Illinois-based apartment developer—broke ground on Oct. 10 for a new build-to-rent development. According to ArchCon Corporation, The Sylvan will be a 300-unit residential community.
