Well, I'm still not at all an expert but my mixes get good responses from the target audience. I harbor no illusions as to their qualities when measured against very good work. But, I am having thoughts that are beyond just getting the recorded stuff to sound well. I have ACTUAL IDEAS of some interesting, to me at least, things to do to some of the upcoming stuff. Makes the whole process more fun to be thinking that way.

cardiord condenser. I got mine at the grand opening of our local GC. An entire barrel full of new MK-219 at some insanely low price like 23 dollars each. It was years before I got a 48-volt system to make it work. If I ever used it with my tape deck nothing survives. It wasn't until a couple months ago when I dug it out of a crate packed 5 years ago that I actually used it for real the first time. My completely untreated office is not a recording studio by any stretch of the...

Don’t know about y'all but I like playing my guitar through my computer.
I use Bias FX and I know it’s not a sub for real amps but cool enough for me and a delight to be able to play silently through headphones.
Ok, so my question for y'all that do this regularly is how can I switch quickly from one amp preset to another?
Like from chorus clean to driven.
Right now all I can do is use my mouse to click one or another preset but it’s not as easy as stomping on a pedal.
Bias FX does not have...

So after many starts and stops on a much larger project that had too many partners involved with different ideas....and was starting to accumulate way too high a cost....my original partner & I decided on a much simpler approach while rethinking a larger space just for ourselves....so we redid over his home studio:
We will be building eventually a larger space in the following...

I was having a convo about vinyl vs CDs and if shifted towards analog vs digital recording. Im curious many of yall thoughts, not just for home recording where i imagine most of us are now using all digital recording, but also in general? My preference has always been all analog recording on tape and then using digital mastering to get best of both worlds ..read more

Nice guy drummer bro can't participate any longer due to personal/familial stuff. We may have a drummer coming to jam with us, I don't know him and he is probably very very good and very well educated musically. But, it's kind of a pain, but I am really looking forward to TAKING ALL THE MICS DOWN AND GETTING IT TIDY AND LESS CLAUSTROPHOBIC IN HERE.
It's not like I haven't done this all a zillion times. Tidy time..... Yay ..read more
