I was going to wait until the parts showed up. Since I'm posting more than I thought I would, I figured I should maybe put this out there. So maybe I look like I belong here, and not just somebody spouting a bunch of nonsense. I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy that, say; bought a screamin' deal neck, 5 or 10 years ago, did a wee bit of work on it, not enough to screw it up, took a pic or two with a tuner on it, tossed the neck into a corner and never put it on a guitar, spent the... Mahogany Strat Build

While imbibing adult beverage and browsing Warmoth website, I came across a screaming deal of chambered strat with figured mahogany top that I just couldn't refuse. Here it is after six coats of Formby Tung Oil Finish in satin. Not terribly imaginative but I do like the look of natural wood grain. I like how the tremolo routing looks like a surprised face. Now I am waiting for the neck from Warmoth ..read more

Dual Humbucker Experimentation Build

The plan for this build is to pack in features in a nice aesthetic package. My goal is to have a sort of jack-of-all-trades type guitar with the tradeoff that switching between configurations is relatively slow, i.e. this guitar is not meant for live performance, but is more suitable for just exploring differences in configurations as well as having more tonal range for recording and/or planning live performance. The ability to experiment is the main key for this one. Starting with the... Read more ..read more

Hi all, Long time forum reader, first time poster. Thank you all for the inspiration, knowledge, and experiences. After 2 years of consideration I have decided to build a bass. After receiving some Christmas gift certificates I ordered an Alder Jazzmaster bass IV body and a roaster maple/wenge fingerboard jazz neck to go with it. I'm almost done polishing the body after many coats (sealer, white, pearl white, flake, clear (and more and more clear). It was my first time doing a flake... Read more ..read more

Opinions Needed - White Nitro or keep Natural?

I’m working on a build using a 4-piece roasted swamp ash body. As we all know, these are “suitable for solid colors.” My intention was to do an open grain satin white along the lines of Veritas satin white. However, now that I have a few sealer coats on, I’m kinda digging the natural look and am considering just keeping it natural and finishing with satin clear. The 4 piece body doesn’t bother me as the pieces are fairly well matched and have some interesting grain pattens. I know it’s... Read more ..read more

Purchased this Warmoth Redwood/Mahogany telecaster earlier this year. Raw I used Tung Oil, then several thin layers of Tru-Oil. What it looks like in my shop Outside: I am close to installing a Gotoh Vintage Telecaster Bridge that I purchased from Warmoth as well. Thinking of installing Lollar Royal T Neck and Special T Bridge pickups with a Lollar 4-way tele pre-wired kit. I have a Warmoth Roasted Maple Telecaster neck that will will be... High quality Fender Decals

Hope this is the correct place to ask, but I've been looking for a place online to buy what looks like a 1966 fender stratocaster decal for my warmoth build. I bought one off etsy for $25 and it came out too pixelated and low quality. I am in Canada if that makes any difference. If anyone could private message or post here a good quality seller I would be very grateful. Thank you for your time! Here is an image of the decal I'm specifically looking for, for reference ..read more
