The 2024 DiData ProAm came just 4 days after my 6 day whirlwind trip to George with the ladies. I managed to rest for just 3 days before I was back on that flight to George. Still exhausted, sunburned, and blistered, I made my way to the airport on that Thursday morning with the excitement of someone who was doing this trip for the first time. It was the DiData, of course I was beside myself to be taking part again this year.  FANCOURT Arriving back in George in less than a week of leaving, felt like I was returning home of some sorts. The airport was busy with Amatuers arriving for the ..read more

Fiftys Fabulous February in The Garden Route. This February turned out to be the best golfing month in my entire golf existence. Starting off with a six day golf trip to George with the best bunch of ladies and golf buddies. I was told it was just a girl’s trip, asked if I was keen, and my instructions were to just show up. I packed my bags a bit anxious because I was going on a trip for 6 days with 6 ladies, 7 including me. The 7even sunset boat cruise. Mossel Bay My anxiety was caused by the fact that I had never traveled with so many people for so long, other than my kids. I have spent my e ..read more

2024 A New Golfing Year A Recap of my 2023 golfing year. 2023 has come and gone, and it turned out to be a slow year and even of less golf for me. Even though I didn’t get to play as much golf as I would have wanted to, there were still some incredible highlights to my golf year. The first one was the DiData at Fancourt early in the year that I wrote about in my, A Late Start blog. This was followed by a line-up of Womens golf events that are always such a pleasure to be a part of. Starting off with the ITU Golf Wear Ladies event hosted by Emperors Palace at Glendower. It’s always a great fun ..read more

2023 Golf starts now… My 2022 golf season ended on one of the highest highs and then a plummet to the lowest low immediately after. My high being the insane privilege to play with a living legend and the experience of playing in the Gary and Vivienne Player Invitational with the host himself Gary Player. Honestly, I’m not about to stop bragging about that anytime soon. So bear with me. My plummet came in the form of nearly dying from heatstroke and other health complications right after and needing to spend a month and a bit in recovery mode. My Christmas and holiday golf plans down the drain ..read more

HAPPY NEW YEAR! First day of 2023 Golf Year. 2022 turned out to be an incredibly tough year for me personally and I didn’t get to play as much golf as I would have loved to. I didn’t get to do nearly half the things I had planed to do. Yet I still can’t help but to look back in gratitude at some beautiful moments and highest of highlights. I’d like to thank Chris Bentley and the wonderful Royal Johannesburg and Kensington staff for always making me feel at home and going out of their way to make my guests feel welcome. For being the best course to be a member at. To Daniel Egdes and TaylorMade ..read more

After two years of its absence in South Africa, The Gary Player Invitational finally took place at its home, The Lost City Golf Course at The Sun City resort. However, after the loss of the beloved Vivienne Player last year it was more than befitting for this amazing event to come back as the inaugural GARY & VIVIENNE PLAYER INVITATIONAL. Vivienne Player was the epitome of charity, service and giving back. So, this name addition to this prestigious Golf and Giving event was really the cherry on top. The Gary and Vivienne Player Invitational will continue the work Mr Player and his late wi ..read more

Steenberg Golf Club. Cape Town The Nelson Mandela Foundation is a non-profit organisation focused on memory, dialogue and legacy work, founded by Nelson Mandela in 1999. An organisation that supports, empowers and guides community and social upliftment projects. One of the latest projects on their vast portfolio is one very near and dear to my heart, the ability to evoke charity through golf. The Nelson Mandela Foundation Golf invitational has found a way to do just that, continuing to raise funds in furtherance of the Trusts objectives. Charity Golf days have become a popular and fun way to ..read more

An American Summer throwback. Some people have a country bucket list but my bucket list consists of golf courses, and the aim is to play a golf course in ANY and EVERY country I visit, also known to me as Flag Collecting. One of the courses that had been on the list for over ten years, is Inverness Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. Inverness Country Club Birmingham AL Birmingham has some of the most beautiful courses I’ve seen and the 26 Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail courses stretch the entire length of the state… another thing on the bucket list. Inverness and I have a small history, so it ..read more

Mauritius, a golfing destination throwback… Dinarobin Beachcomber Hotel, Mauritius The opportunity to visit Mauritius came about in 2017 through Mauritius Tourism South Africa and The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open 2017. When I got that call to be a part of the #RatherBeInMauritius hash tag which included playing golf, sightseeing and a VIP invitation to what has without a doubt become my favourite Tri-Sanctioned tournament by the DP Tour, Asian Tour and Sunshine Tour. I did not need any convincing. This beautiful Island was always on my bucket list of places to visit way before I started playing ..read more
