Hello! I need hard core expert level help with my Murray 5/25 engine. The engine works, pretty good, but I can't keep it running. If I actively adjust the choke then it runs somehow, but without that adjusting the engine stops. I have inspected the carburetor very carefully. Took it apart, replaced the gaskets, cleaned it - but obviously I have missed something. What should I do? Any specific ideas? Or should I try to buy a totally new carburetor, or the whole... I just checked/replaced idler pulleys and belts and think I overlooked having a wrong idler pulley. I started it up and noticed a burning rubber smell without engaging the blades. Looking closer, even though the diagram shows the idler pulleys being the same, shouldn't one pulley be flat and the other V shaped? They're item 28 in the pic. TIA ..read more

Hi there all I've got a Murray (Yard King) that I've loved and tried to look after that goes great. Unfortunately my repairer has just told me that my spindles (axles) are both really worn and that the part is discontinued :-( I really don't want to get rid of this mower. Does anybody know of a potential way I can replace these, where I might be able to source them or if there are alternative after market parts with different numbers? missing linkage 13AM775S058 2014 manu date 42" cut riding mower. throttle lever is not connected to carb. the guvenor lever is connected to the carb but not the throttle. what am i missing. anyone have a diagram of those linkages ..read more

I recently acquired a Scotts model 50567x8, 20 hp, 50" rider. I can find very little info on this mower but it occurs to me that the mower is likely a rebadged Murray. True? Can anyone cross reference these (or other) mowers? An owners manual would be very helpful in dealing with the deck and especially with servicing the trans. Where can i find a new 17.5hp murray riding mower gas tank? Its a 2004 riding mower but the middle seam of tank has split from aging and needs a new tank cant fill it up over half a tank. I have aquired a Murray Select riding mower with an 18.5 Intek.. Model 33R7770003G11411.. Model on HOP sticker is #960440008.. It also shows to be a model MS18542.. CONFUSING!! Well it needs a compression release and I’ve already recently change a cam in a different intek motor.. I picked up the tractor and the gear shifter is a miss and the the bottom of the shifter is a linkage to the transmission.. there is a turn buckle taking the place of the linkage.. In the recent round of snowstorms here in Wisconsin, the brass auger gear inside the worm drive shredded. I got a new gear and ran into what I think is a problem with the reassembly. The collar on one side of the worm gear is not held in tightly. I've marked the area in blue in the picture. It looks like there's a flange missing.
