I'm fairly new to this forum but decided I would start a thread on my Murray 11/36 project. I have several Murrays but this was my first and oldest Murray. First a little background about this mower. It is model# 6-36506 that was built on June 2, 1986 based on the date code. So I bought a used Murray riding mower a few days ago. First mower I've ever owned. I am very mechanical and kept a second gen Dodge ram (with lots of issues) running for 7 years. However, never worked on small motors or mowers. Belt shredded on me, it was new. The grass is pretty long and I've been cutting at the highest blade height but I think too much grass got up under and the belt dropped in the back and wrapped around a rod (sorry, I don't know part names yet). Hello Everybody! I have an annoying problem with my trusty Murray 5/25. The engine does not work properly. I get it started, it runs if I adjust the choke but stops easily. So far I have studied the carburettor, cleaned the carburettor, replaced the gaskets, fuel is ok and flows, ignition is ok with good spark, checked everything I can imagine - and the engine works fine but only with actively adjusting the choke (and not always even then). I have an 11 month old MT200 riding mower (42"). Recently, I noticed it would not power down when pulling back the choke handle. If I physically push that white plastic connector forward (to the left) with the choke handle pushed down (in turtle mode) I can then get the white plastic connector moved to the right by pushing the choke up (into rabbit mode).
