Fall is taking over and things are cooling off some finally. Making for some happy fish feeding across the state just pick your target and enjoy. Expect topwater bass fishing to be good until we get actual cold fronts, then itll slow into some great streamer fishing. Fall also means great camping weather making for great overnight and multi day float paddle trips, its not all about fishing if ya dont want it to be. Scenic views, nice paddles, good food, friends and family are also fun ways to enjoy the outdoors. The Brazos river is running Perfect and fishing great expect this to continue into ..read more

Its been a hot one out there but you know we stay on the fish. Stay hydrated and get up early or maybe even go nocturnal! Also wanted to add we have a fleet of kayaks now and can handle large paddle groups trips half, full or a multi day adventure. Fall is around the corner and we cant wait. Cooler temps, big flies and hungry fish. Get on my calendar before its to late. Bass fishing is in its summer patterns with the mid day heat being relatively slow especially on the lakes. Sections of the Brazos river are still running great and keeping fish active near current even some decent striper acti ..read more

Fishing has just been fantastic across Texas and we finally scored a Ten and a Half pound Largemouth Bass on Lake Conroe Big Congrats to Tom. He was already having a banner morning and this was just the icing on the cake. Life goals achieved! Since i started off talking Lake conroe- Fishing has been great with the shad spawn making for great topwater action all along the shoreline. Its a little bit of whack mole but a lot of fun. Dont be scared to work thick vegetation just ask Tom even if its slow it can pay off big time. Tons of bluegill and other species of sunfish spawning also look for th ..read more

Spring is in full effect and just about everything is shallow and biting. Largemouth and spotted bass have been all to willing to take a top water and just down right hammer it. Carp have been super happy with plenty of mudders and tailers out and even some elm tree seed eaters. Cottonwood seeds should be popping soon as well and they love them. Freshwater drum have been shallow more and more with some sight fishing opportunities but most have been while streamer fishing around rocks. Whitebass, hybrids and striper have been around more lately with the whitebass run still going where flows per ..read more

Fall bite is kicking off 22'

With two “cool fronts” already blowing through the waves of cooler and cooler mornings start. The fish are already reacting and have started feeding a little more aggressively. I say the fish because they are all turning on. Weve started finding a few more white bass on trips, carp have been sticking their whole bodies up on flats and bass are definitely keying in on shad with a lot more sporadic blow ups on schools of shad. This all mean you should be fishing. Break out those topwater and baitfish flies and get to work! Dont be scared to go big this time of year while streamer fishing but if ..read more

Late winter, Early Spring fly fishing

Current report: Its cold right now but fish are always biting in Texas. Even on the coldest days we still have a rainbow trout option every one knows the Guadalupe is stocked but in north Texas we also have them stocked in the Brazos below PK, some sections of the Trinity and a run up to the Blue can be a nice get away. If stocker trout don’t do it for you there’s also Chain Pickerel in north east Texas on a few lakes. While not the hardest fighters the eats are down right ferocious. They may slow on the really cold days but days over 50 degrees can be really good on deceiver and seaducer styl ..read more

The fall bite is on and weve been catching a ton of largemouth bass streamer fishing and are still getting on some solid topwater action. Striper have really turned on with the cooler water temps and are slamming game changers and anything that looks like a shad(sink tips and full sink lines can really help). Cast and Blast floats have been added also and while the birds have been slow the fishing has been making up for it. Were also starting to think about other cool weather options as we get closer and closer to winter. One of my favorite thing to target this time of year are chain pickerel ..read more

River Camping

The night lows have dropped, its no longer 100 degrees and the fall bite has kicked off. All of these things added together make for great river tent camping and of course fly fishing. I love doing these multi day float/paddle trips whether its just one night or several. You get to see wild stretches of rivers that most dont and are otherwise hard to access; meaning less people, better fishing and undeveloped and untouched scenery. Its hard to beat the sound of the river and smell of campfire as you fall asleep or wake up and theirs just something about a hardy meal after a long day on the wat ..read more

The fall bite has kicked off and were enjoying cooler mornings and less people on the water! Its a great time to come out and enjoy the great outdoors. Brazos river- Has been fishing great and running at low flows for a while now. The bass topwater bite has been decent and the streamer bite has been on fire especially prefront. Still seeing plenty of carp and freshwater drum up skinny making for some decent sight fishing. Its also a great time for over night float if youre into camping riverside. North Texas Lakes(Ray Rob,Lake fork)- bass action has been picking up as well as running into scho ..read more
