We’re thrilled to announce that as of 13th June 2023, BMABA has now fully acquired #MartialArtsDoneRight including all 30,000 members. For too long now, and especially since COVID, we’ve felt independent martial arts is underfunded and not nearly recognised enough for the hundreds of thousands of students supported every year. After more than four months of negotiations with insurers, we’ve finally managed to reach an agreement in principle to roll forward BMABA’s live blade cover. Initially set up some years ago, BMABA’s live blade cover provides access to some of the ‘rarest’ forms of cover available in UK martial arts. For the past six years, BMABA has become recognised for our striking and renowned ‘Coat of Arms’ logo (shown below, left). This is the traditional, formal crest for the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA) and it remains our formal identification. What you may not know, is that in 2018 we introduced a more contemporary ‘alternative’ logo designed to allow clubs a more website and document friendly version, which is smaller and more condensed. Today we celebrate BMABA officially turning 10 years old, having opened our first website on 5th September 2012. The details emerging in national media are sickening by any measurement, but for a martial arts instructor to be the culprit is beyond reprehensible.
