Into the future I can see myself having a HTPC/Media server for content consumption rather than many OTT subscriptions. The problem with OTT is that their streaming quality is not the best and our favourite content may not be available one day without any notice. With this in mind I have started collecting remuxes of movies I like off the internet. The idea is to have a fair amount of movies/shows in my possession as I keep improving my setup. Each 4k movie is about 50-70 gb in size. My...

Hi friends,
I know that this topic is very old, still I saw that many of our new members find it difficult to Bitstream HD audio from PC/Laptop.
So I thought of writing about some Video players which does this job well and you get those Free.
First you have to check if your Hardware supports HD audio over HDMI.ATI HD series(5***)and above.Nvidia GT 4** and above does support it.
popular Video players are Media Player Classic for Home Cinema(MPCHC), Pot Player,XMBC.I will write about first...

I am looking at Intel NUC11PAHi30Z01 as a low cost solution to replace a 7+ years old Intel NUC HTPC, since for sometime playback of high GB video file downloads on the current NUC is choppy and stuttering. Plan later this year is to also purchase a 4kHDR TV to replace the current 1080p TV. I have selected Intel NUC11PAHi30Z01 because it supports h.265, 16gb ram and HDMI 2.0. Htpc will only be used to watch movies/TV series on streaming apps and video file downloads saved on the hard drive...

I know that a similar thread has been posted here but in the other thread the op ended up buying the nvidia shield which I cannot due to its extremely high price, so high that the Apple TV is cheaper. I just want to confirm whether the Xbox One S (not the Series S) can play 4k media from local drive at native 4k resolution, as I saw a thread claiming that the One S only has native 4k support for streaming apps such as prime video, netflix or youtube, but plays at 1080p on apps like Kodi or...

So, I was not pleased with Fire Cube 2nd gen as it can't passthrough Dolby TrueHD Atmos to the AVR and downmixes everything to Dolby Digital Plus, and was raking my head ad to what I should get. I was contemplating between Nvidia Shield and Ziddoo for passthrough needs.
Yesterday, it occured to me that I have a pretty powerful GPU and PC lying in my TV unit, which I had completely forgotten about. My year old Xbox Series S.
I installed Kodi on it, set it up to sync the library from the...

I am using nvidia shield pro for video and music playback at present. However the options in terms of audio playback quality is limited with nvidia shield pro. It does not allow passthrough of stereo content to USB DAC
Instead i want to set up mini PC for 4k@30fps playback and music streaming with foobar server set up. I believe this will be a convenient all in one solution for me. However, i am confused with what specs of mini PC to go with.
I have shortlisted the following mini PC...

Hello,
I recently installed Android TV 13 OS on a raspberry pi 4 8GB ram.
Every works except pi wifi is only finding 2.4G network and not 5g network.
As far as I know, pi 4 does support 5G wifi. Other devices at my home dont have any issues finding or connecting to 5g wifi.
I read some where that, it probably because region is not set correctly on android. But in Android TV 13 OS, I dont see any option to set region.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
