need some advice. I have a Yamaha RX- 1030 receiver that I have had for awhile. Last year I got into the Hi-res streaming game by buying a WiiM mini and subscribing to amazon music hd. although I like the sound from the Wiim mini , I was thinking about upgrading to more expensive streamer. The problem is from ive been reading , is that there no way to bypass the internal DAC on my receiver . With that being said , is there any point to upgrade my streamer with one that has a better DAC or... upgrading streaming device ..read more

Hi, I've been using Xbox One X console as a media player and for gaming in my cinema room. I find Xbox very restrictive and want to switch to using a PC. I found that you can actually connect an Xbox controller to a PC and use it as a console. I have 7.2.4 speaker system with Yamaha A8A receiver and a dedicated RMB 1585 power amp for the front and side channels. I am considering this mini-PC model... Can 2 track Dolby encoded 5.1 multichannel audio be transcoded to 6 discreet tracks?

I've failed coming up with an answer to this for months. Can anyone tell me if there's any way to transcode the 2 track Dolby encoded 5.1 multichannel audio component in a video file saved by my DVR to a new audio file with 6 discreet tracks? My DVR/STB can feed the signal of a recording to my old Denon AVR-3310CI via toslink which then decodes the channels and feeds my speakers. But my equally old HTPC only has analog multichannel outputs fed into the AVR's analog inputs it can't decode... Can Sony 360 Reality Audio Compete with Dolby Atmos Music?

There are now two competing surround-music formats vying for your immersive listening. Dolby Atmos Music has the backing of Apple (as Spatial Audio) and its #2 music streaming service Apple Music, only behind Spotify in regular subscribers. The up-and-coming competitor, Sony's 360 Reality Audio competes directly with Atmos Music on both Tidal and Amazon Music HD. I've been listening to both formats over a multi-channel speaker systems and I think either one has great potential. btw: 360RA... I just got a new Mesh wifi router system with three nodes. My computer with my local music files and my NAD 658 are even connected to the same node. After getting the NAD connected to the new wifi network the BluOS software refused to locate my music library that's on the same computer as the BluOS software. When I try to add a Library, I click the Browse button and browse to the "Music" folder where all my artist subfolders are located. I click OK and all BluOS shows in the field that... Buzzing sound with GPU under load

Hello everyone, I have a Denon AVR 4700h hooked up to a computer through HDMI (on a Geforce 3080), playing audio on a 7.1.2 system. Movies play extremely well and it's a pleasure to listen to concerts. The problem is when playing games and having the GPU under heavy load, there is a very annoying buzzing sounds coming out of the LCR speakers. Muting the speakers makes is easy to play with settings to try to get rid of the buzzing because then only the buzzing is audible, but, nothing works... Buzzing sound with GPU under load ..read more

I've been using Roon for quiet sometime running on a dedicated Linux server streaming my tracks from a 48TB NAS (Dell 740xd). Everything has been working mostly well for years ... that is until recently. After this latest upgrade to 2.0 build 1357 (prod branch) I've suffered yet another database corruption. Restores of previous databases have not been very successful...and certainly not after the system is rebooted (upgraded kernel, etc) at which point I have to spend a lot of time trying to... I have some computers that were used for HTC phone kiosks in shopping malls which came to me from one of my customers, who was the CEO of the company that designed and built the kiosks. I have used a few of them as my personal and work computers because I had them, but the one I original set up for work has a serial port, which is great for programming older remotes because Serial to USB adapters generally suck. One video card cacked, so I did what I could to move files that were important... Windows 7 Professional computer issues ..read more
