Mexico isn't usually the first place you think of when seeking out quality craft beers, but the country has a thriving beer scene initially influenced by their neighbours to the north but now developing their own profile. The state of Jalisco alone has 86 breweries, almost all of them founded in the last 10 years. One of the few exceptions is the pioneer craft brewer in the state, Minerva. Founded in 2003 they have since become the most successful craft brewery in Mexico and influenced the development of the local scene in a state far more famous for its Tequila. We have a range of their beers ..read more

Après Ski

Après-ski translates literally as 'after ski' and is a term commonly used to refer to after skiing activities, typically parties, drinks, or just hanging out at the lodge. Personally, my favourite après ski pastime is heading back to the bach with friends, cranking the fire, and mixing up some drinks for a few rounds of board games or cards. Here are some perfect, manageable après ski cocktails for your next ski trip. Hot Toddy Yes, it's old school, but don't mess with a classic. And it couldn't be easier to make with limited supplies available at the bach. I suggest this for the first drinks ..read more

I just want to share some shopping tips to make everyone's experience just a little bit easier. Order Early.  Yes, easier said than done, but if you at all can, get your shopping done early. Not only will the stores be less crowded, you're more likely to get the items you're looking for. We don't expect too many new beers coming out between now and Christmas so you won't be missing out on something by buying early, quite the opposite really. Get it Delivered.  Skip the madness in the shops and order online. This one goes along with order early. We can sh ..read more

North End Feature

North End is one of my favourite sneaky breweries. Their labels are unassuming and you could easily pass them up for a flashier brand. But that would be a gigantic mistake as the beer inside is world class.  Over the last 5 years, North End has built up a wonderful collection of beers that mainly focus on European styles, but also covers the hot topics of American and Kiwi IPAs, Pilsners and kettle sours.  From their Bamburg inspired smoked doppelbock, Pit Boss - using malt smoked in their BBQ pit - to a Flemish brown ale using yogurt as a souring culture, North End ma ..read more

We have something a bit different for you today.  Oud Beersel Brewery created a special bag-in-box format of their interesting lambics.  Each box contains 3.1L of beer (equivalent to about 8.3 standard demi bottles). Once opened this box has a shelf life of 6 weeks if stored in the refrigerator. Perfect to share with friends... or just on your own over a week or two of lambic bliss! We can get our hands on a few of these boxes as a limited run, but due to the live nature, short shelf life, and obvious niche market these boxes represent we are taking preorders for the next week w ..read more
