The year is flying by. It’s already March and Alive Pharmacies are starting to see an early uptake in immunity vitamins and supplements. Over the past year, our amazing team of pharmacists have also been working tirelessly to get locals immunised and protected against influenza, whooping cough, and COVID-19. This year it’s even more important to keep our  immune systems healthy ahead of the cold and flu season to prevent the spread of illness. Your protection after receiving an influenza vaccine is highest for 3-4 months. Consider when you might best need this extra protection. Pe ..read more

For many women (and men), mental and physical health can take a back seat while we prioritise the wants and needs of our families. In many cases, some health issues go unnoticed simply due to a lack of time for regular preventative health checks. Common health concerns for women include heart disease, breast cancer, endometriosis, depression, and anxiety. On page 5 of our March Live+ (which comes out on the 07th of March), our friends at Health Management Dietitians Cairns discuss the role of cortisol and the effect the hormone has on our body.   I hope you are all settling into your 2023 routine. Getting into a routine can have psychological benefits that help alleviate anxiety and stress. It’s often encouraged to create a routine with exercise for your physical health, and to schedule time to check in with yourself for mental health. I love when we go on family holidays, but it’s always great to come home and get back into everyday business. In February’s Live+ we talk about a very important topic: mental health. It can be really tricky for someone living with depression (or other health conditions) to express how they are fee ..read more

The New Year has begun, and it’s time to keep kicking goals. In 2022, it was great to see our staff working together to deliver the highest quality patient care. In 2023, we hope to exceed these efforts and deliver an enhanced Pharmacy- Patient customer experience. Since January 1st pharmacies across Australia have committed to subsidising the cost of medicines through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). Delivering this support means that our Pharmacies can ensure that all patients receive fair price reductions as intended for the PBS co-payment plan. We are also encouraging any p ..read more
