Second V on Her Way!

Well, we did it. Put our name in for a second pup. Feeling a little bit crazy, but also crazy excited. Those of you familiar with Shofar, know that our three year old can be a bit jealous. She got used to the kitten and they are now buds, so that's encouraging. My question is, how much different is it to have two Vs? I haven't forgotten just how challenging the puppy phase can be, but I've also heard it's almost easier with two. ANY tips or suggestions are welcome. We still have seven weeks... Hi there! I'm looking to put feelers out to a breeder about getting a Vizsla puppy around autumn this year and would love some recommendations for ones within 1.5 hours of Bristol, or 1 hour of Stafford. So far the best looking one my research has turned up is VizAsh in Wiltshire. They have bred show and gun dogs, but we're just looking for a pet and biking companion so I don't know if this is overkill? Has onyone had a puppy from them or heard of them and can share their experience... UK Breeder Recommendations ..read more

I’m completely heartbroken to write this, but I am looking to re-home our 4 month old AKC vizsla pup. He is lovely and incredibly intelligent, crate trained with knowledge of basic commands and a total love bug. Unfortunately, one of our existing dogs has not taken kindly to the new pup and has been showing aggression towards him and us, which has never happened before. Hence I have to make a painful decision and look for a new home for our little fur buddy. Only experienced vizsla/pointer... looking to Re-home a 4 month old AKC Vizsla pup ..read more

Hi, Just found this wonderful site!! We have a 13 week old short haired vizsla called Frankie, he is currently weighing in at 9.5 kg's. He is extremely hard work, he has been out and about walking now for 2weeks, which has eased the 'madness' slightly!!! We have lots of fun however, like many puppy owners on this site, we have the same issues. Biting, Crate Training @ night (IMPOSSIBLE!!)!!!! Frankie walks perfectly off lead and comes back immediately with whistle recall. We love him... We have a Crazy Vizsla Puppy ..read more

Hey everyone, So, my puppy's been acting like he's had a few too many cups of coffee during the day lately. It's like he's got an Energizer battery inside him that just won't quit! I've tried everything to get him to settle down for a nap, but no luck. He's bouncing off the walls, playing with his toys like there's no tomorrow. I'm starting to worry he's not getting enough rest during the day. Any suggestions on how to help him wind down and get some much-needed sleep? I've heard about... Puppy Won't Sleep! 9 month old licking

Our female pup, Zoey, loves to lick everything! She will affectionately lick us (probably for salty taste and on our faces. But we notice her licking corners of the floor, even under a shelf, and our sheets occasionally as well. She doesn't lick her paws and only does a little bit of grooming-not excessively. I've read that licking can be a form of comfort or boredom. We are wondering if this is a problem we should be concerned about? She is a very healthy active girl. Hello all, looking for some advice about my 14 week old puppy. He is a gorgeous dog and we adore him. Every night, on and off, between the hours of about 6.00pm and 21.30 he is wild. He runs, growls and barks and will bite anything that moves. I have lurked here for a while and know that this may be normal but it really doesn’t feel normal. It feels like he’s a different dog during these hours and I suppose I am looking for a bit of reassurance. He’s healthy, he eats well, he is somewhat... Puppy zoomies ..read more

Hey there! I am wondering how much exercise is too much for my five month Vizsla puppy, Otis. He is very well behaved when he gets enough, and he has never showed any signs of not wanting to continue on a trail. Lately I have upped our kilometres to 10km. As a hike sometimes with elevation gain But also as flat runs near my home. A run for me is just a fast walk for him. I am an avid trail runner, and feel like he’s really dry to join but i want to make sure I am not overdoing it for his... How much exercise is too much to give my 5month Vizsla puppy ..read more
