Thranduil Photoshoot

Back in April 2020, just when stores and all free time activities closed in Germany because of the pandemic, we were met with a lot of time on our hands. And as taking walks was still allowed, we thought to combine our regular walks in the woods with a photoshoot of Aby’s Thranduil. When we arrived at one of our favorite mushroom-picking-spots, we were devastated though. Half of the forest that we used to roam barely one or two years ago, was just gone. Most of the trees had been cut down because they were infested with bark beetles who are currently thriving in our woods. Being confronted wit ..read more

The Locked Tomb Cosplay Photoshoot – Camilla Hect & Palamedes Sextus

When timetravellingprincess said that Aby would probably enjoy reading the The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir, because there were lesbian necromancers travelling through space, we didn’t expect that there were bookcosplay plans on the horizon. In fact, I (Pasta) had a bit of a hard time getting into the series, as we only listened to the audiobooks at first while crafting and while the worldbuilding and its characters is amazing, it was also hard to follow for me and I lost focus a lot. Eventually, we were both hooked though and fell in love with Camilla and Palamedes and their beautiful re ..read more

Number Five – Umbrella Academy Cosplay Photoshoot

Last year in summer, we watched The Umbrella Academy Season 2 on Netflix. While we enjoyed the first season, we got really hooked on the second season and Aby liked Number Five so much, that she ordered his costume. It arrived super quickly and she made a few adjustments to it, before we went out to shoot it. We were so looking forward to make  5’11” tall Aby look like a 13-year-old kid through the magic of perspective and lacking other Academy members to pose with. A week prior to this, we went location scouting and found some old ruins from a sunken city. Each summer, when it’s really d ..read more

John Marston Photoshoot

Last summer, after figuring out what a cool photo backdrop our old attic was, Aby decided to make a John Marston make-up test. We had everything we would need for his Red Dead Redemption 2 outfit at home already and wanted to try out our new location some more. And since the light was really really good up there, we also filmed some scenes of John Marston  smoking, which Aby really nailed in my opinion. Originally, we wanted to add the photos for our make-up book, but it didn’t make the cut – however, it’s perfect for the 2nd book we’re planning. We hope you enjoy! John Marston Cosplay b ..read more

Back in summer, we met up with our friend Elvesgonewild and shot our Red Dead Redemption 2 cosplays! Actually, we had planned to wear these costumes to multiple conventions in 2020 and visit a cowboy reenactment city to take really authentic photos, but yeah, the pandemic happened. Instead, we spent a nice weekend together, used multiple locations, including our attic, a prairie-like-looking meadow with cows and a rural looking barbecue place in the wilderness. We also managed to film a few scenes that we put together to a Cosplay Music Video and we’re super proud how it turned out, despite us ..read more

Disclaimer: This blog article contains sponsored content – Knipex were kind and send us a few pliers from their huge range of tools and we were happy to try them out and use them for this project! Welcome to part 3 of our 3D-printing for cosplay blog articles. In this final part, we’ll get physical – if you get what we mean. In case that you don’t: our two previous articles about this topic were rather theoretical and digital, but now we’re finally holding our raw 3D-print in our hands. So what now? For our late Umbrella Academy photoshoot in August, we needed an axe for Number Five to be a ..read more

We have an announcement to make: We will release our first cosplay book “MALE UP! – The Art of Countouring” in… uh… some time. Probably really soon! We want to introduce you to what kind of book it is, by answering some basic questions you probably have about this project:   What is the book about? Our book is about make-up for male characters. Or as we so punnily called it: Male up. It’s 2020, plague season, and we all have a lot of time to play around with make-up in the confines of our home. So we thought it would be perfect to introduce our make-up techniques to the world. So the book ..read more
