Hi all,
I’m well on with getting 26t split n bagged into barrow bags. My intention is to stick the bags in the bottom field once I’ve extended the driveway down that far. I’ll be hardcore mot with chipping on. When I get round to moving them I’m not sure what’ll be best. I’m thinking a second hand forklift but I’m not sure how well the work on hardcore. Anyone any advice of the best kit. I could always just use the big car with a trailer on but that’s a lot of loading unloading and my back ain’t the best tbh. And if I do end up selling them I’ll need to load the trailer easier too. But then I ..read more

Hey all,
as the title suggests I'm currently looking for a new hoover (for sweeps on 3 flues plus regular Esse 990 and Froling S4 servicing)
I've had a couple in the past but even though designed to cope with soot neither really stepped up to the mark and soon lost their suck.
Thought this maybe a good place to ask for recommendations before trawling a market I know nothing about
Many thanks,
Matt ..read more

The wind blew over a big old pine tree I had. If I could stand it back up I would because it isn't dead. Anyway, it is leaning on a tree I want to keep.
I was doing some research on how to take this tree down and it was saying to cut a notch in the top and then cut a line from underneath.
Does that match your experience?
It is about 15" diameter, if I were to guess.
Eventually I'll burn it in my log burner ..read more

Help regarding installation. We have a ‘ heavy’ clear view- 12kw stove that we want to put free standing in our soon to be converted barn . The barn is on the floor above the garage .The floor where the stove is going to sit has new 6 x2 rafters and a central RSJ and chipboard t and g boards ( 1 inch thick). We want to put the stove in the corner, but raise the corner to make a plinth, sit a slate hearth on it - obviously will get a HETAS engineer to install . I want to raise the plinth ( triangle shaped) say 10 inches from the floor . My thoughts were to put say breeze blocks on the floor - th ..read more
