Frederick Russel Jones, a.k.a. Ahmad Jamal, is often called one of the most influential jazz players after Charlie Parker. Untill his death, he passed away in 2023 at age 92, he looked for the borders of jazz music. In 2014 in Middelheim, he played the famous standard "Blue Moon" with a caribean beat. A brilliant version, so was the work of this piano legend described. Remarkably enough was his best sold album produced in his 'early years" in 1958: "At the Pershing - but not for me", 65 yeras efore he passed away. Great years for all of his fans!
