At the 35 acre lake . Only 10 swims on 1 one bank only ,with woods as the backdrop so not a little pond staring at other people opposite lol. Lovely and secluded no public access. Having a nice trip with my mate Jon. Done 2 nights now iv had 2 he's had 1 . It's a hard lake so that's a good result. 28lbs mirror for him and 33 and 37lbs commons for me. I have fly rods 9ft & 10ft i think off the top of my head, alright for reservoir/lake fishing where there is nothing behind you on the back cast. But i have a small 6ft river rod. Do you think the small rod will be ok with fly reel & line to "fly fish" these rivers where all i am after is to whip the fly to on place ..read more

It was a 1000 mile drive and ferry crossing to reach the Lot department in France. Driving through England was a miserable chore with roadworks and... Read more ..read more

After my son lost a large cat at the net last week, I felt the need to avenge him on his behalf, so with a fresh bag of premiers finest superaminos base mix arriving, I set about knocking up a few kg of boilies, using the aforementioned basemix with regular sense appeals, shellfish sense appeals, salmon oil and cream palatant, the end result was a spicy/fishy concoction that to be honest I was a bit unsure of, but time would tell! I set up in catfish corner on main lake at Hawkhurst, the... Read more ..read more
