Another normal day, and bam I smelled something burning under the steering wheel area. Car still runs and drives but the hazards stay on regardless, Door Ajar light.  dome light  all malfunctioning. I've checked fuse after fuse and now my obd plug says it cannot connect. Sound like the ecm. Hey guys. So I was just outside trying to replace my AC/Alternator belt. The old one shredded itself last night, barely made it home on battery power only. New belt came today. After doing some quick research I see what is involved in getting the alternator to pivot down, in order to give me enough slack to be able to slide the new belt on. Problem is, the alternator doesn't pivot down enough and there's really no way to get leverage to pry/force it on. I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem or am I missing something? Hello, I have a new to me 02 rx300 with 170k on the clock. Im trying to figure out some issues Ive discovered and haven't found anything conclusive enough to fix. Thus, Im reaching out for help, all input would be appreciated. The issue is partially intermittent. On idle when car is in gear and rpm is low ~600 there is a dead miss on 1-2 cylinders. It clears up as the rpm is increased. Additionally, the car suffers a low vacuum condition on occasion (largely after rough idling for awhile, or driving with the engine at low rpm). I'm wanting to buy some new plugs for my 2000 RX300.   I currently have Denso Iridium  SK20R11.   Looking online, I see 9008091180 as the OEM part number for this vehicle.  I occasionally order from Rockauto, they have 5 plugs that correspond to the part number above, but not SK20R11, not sure which to get.  Also look online and some places use a 4 digit number for the Denso plugs.   I’m just looking OEM replacements without an extreme markup on the price.  Also, in the past, I’ve been disappointed in some parts ordered from Amazon, which ..read more

My son has a 2000 Lexus rx300. His radio stopped working. He removed the screen and the preset buttons for the radio and cut the ribbon going to the radio and climate controls. Added a aftermarket radio. Now his AC and heat does not work. My question is this. If he buys a whole new assembly. Screen, radio ,climate controls, bezel etc. used off EBay. The car ('01 RX) will before long be graced with enough parts  maintenance to set it up for it's -next- quarter million miles+, and I figure that the 23 year old radiator has experienced -more than- it's fair share of heat stress. OE spec. (NOT Lexus parts counter, though) radiators from either Nissen, or Koyorad are very close in delivered cost. For reference, bought a 2001 Lexus RX 300 at auction. 126K miles. Slipping trans, gave out on the way home. FWD. Brought the trans back to life with a fluid drain and fill and a new filter.  On a short test drive of the transmission low oil light came on. Oil was full, no issues there. Dropped the oil pan, with the amount of RTV present I am guessing the previous person did not do maintenance very well. The oil pan has flecks of metal and some fun glitter everywhere.
